The Position

Perform all aspects of warehousing requirements for the Site regarding general warehouse, hazardous, cold storage and inventory of GMP materials, sampling, and functioning as part of a high-performance team.

 

Relationships

Reports to Manager.

 

Essential Functions

  • Handling, labelling, sampling, storage, and shipping of all materials used in the production of pharmaceutical substances
  • Maintain and clean warehouse and sampling rooms as required
  • Receive and verify incoming raw material shipments against purchase orders and documentation
  • Collect samples when required, using designated tools and containers to prevent contamination
  • Complete sampling forms and electronic entry into gLIMS or QC systems
  • Record reference samples in SAP and store under specified conditions
  • Generate and maintain documentation in a GMP manner
  • Participate in continuous improvement/streamline processes
  • Daily inspections of forklifts, warehouse, cooler, freezer, and sampling rooms
  • Compliance with training programs & confirmation processes
  • Inventory Control of all warehouse materials
  • Operation of bulk solvent tank farm
  • Sampling of Bulk tanker materials and managing incoming controls
  • Store material in proper storage area/type as defined in SAP/ERP
  • Maintain required training for shipment of hazardous materials
  • Prepare materials & documentation for shipment to production areas & external locations
  • Ensure all material movements are performed timely & accurately in SAP/ERP
  • Physical inventory, to include cycle counts & annual inventory counts performed in SAP
  • System knowledge in SAP/ERP: Utilization of system transactions to perform transfer of material & inventory adjustments
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Handles transport of hazardous materials. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Able to perform assigned activities while using required PPE. Able to work in cold environments and around hazardous materials.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required and a minimum of two (2) years of warehousing, or manufacturing experience or equivalent required, preferably in a regulatory inspected facility, GMP warehouse or pharmaceutical industry
    • Associate's Degree preferred
  • Basic math skills, including knowledge of metric system, required
  • Ability to operate stand-up & sit-down forklifts after applicable training, required
  • Ability to read, write legibly & understand all department documentation, required
  • Preferred qualifications: 
    • CFR49 & IATA HAZMAT Certifications
    • Computer competencies required, including basic Microsoft knowledge: Outlook & Word
    • Knowledge of SAP/ERP and LIMS
    • Good written & verbal communication skills
    • Training or experience demonstrating an understanding of risks inherent to processing, handling & storage of hazardous materials
    • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to execute a work plan & adapt to changes in schedule rapidly. Self-motivated & able to work with little direct supervision
  • Proficiency in the following areas: Issuance of approved materials (to scheduled production batches & processing of returns/rejects of materials from scheduled production batches); Receiving (all materials, MRO supplies & controlled/non-controlled components); Material Storage; Labeling & Inspection of incoming raw materials; Inventory Control (cycle counts, reconciliation & internal audits of inventory control systems to ensure accuracy & reliability); Removal/Disposal of expired materials; preferred
