Your new role

As the BASAC Legal Senior Manager, you will act as the principal legal advisor for the Business Area South America & Caribbean. You will guide the region on strategic and operational legal matters, proactively manage risks, and ensure full compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will support high-impact initiatives and contribute to regional and global legal forums. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Act as Business Partner in projects driven by the BASAC Business Area according to business priorities
  • Providing timely, practical legal advice on contract management, corporate governance, competition law, digital interactions, patient support programs, and other key areas.
  • Anticipating and mitigating legal risks across BASAC, including managing litigation strategies when needed.
  • Strengthening contract management processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and risk oversight.
  • Ensuring regional alignment with global and regional legal strategies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Co-leading the Product Security agenda, including matters related to counterfeit risks and pharmacrime.
  • Acting as the Data Protection Responsible for BASAC and supporting privacy governance across affiliates.
  • Representing BASAC in strategic legal forums and contributing to decision-making on behalf of the region.

 

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law and bar admission (required); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Solid experience as a legal advisor in a corporation or law firm.
  • Strong judgment and ability to advise senior executives
  • Strategic thinking, clear communication, stakeholder influence, strong risk assessment, and the ability to translate complex legal topics into practical business solutions.
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, high integrity, and the ability to manage complexity with autonomy.
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus.
  • Regional experience highly valued.
  • Availability to travel up to 20% of the time.
