P&O Assistant
Oxford, South East, GB
People & Organisation, R&D
Oxford, United Kingdom
Are you an organised HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? Do you enjoy delivering high-quality administrative support, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring people processes run smoothly? If so, this could be your opportunity to join Novo Nordisk as a P&O Assistant supporting our UK organisation and helping deliver an outstanding employee experience.
Your new role
As a P&O Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering operational HR support across the UK organisation. This is a highly hands-on position where attention to detail, strong organisation skills, and the ability to manage a broad range of activities are critical to success. You will support employees, managers, and the local P&O team across onboarding, HR administration, compliance, systems, benefits, reporting, and process improvement activities.
The position will be based in Oxford, with occasional travel to London as required.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate onboarding activities and support new employees through a seamless joining experience, including right-to-work checks and HR system introduction.
- Provide HR operational support across employee administration, benefits administration, reporting, payroll-related activities, audits, invoices, and compliance processes.
- Maintain high-quality employee data and support reporting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK employment and GDPR requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR systems, policies, and operational queries.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying efficiencies, challenging existing processes when appropriate, and helping improve the employee experience.
Your new department
In People, Organisation & Corporate Affairs, you will be part of a team that enhances employee engagement and attracts top talent to ensure Novo Nordisk remains a premier choice for exceptional individuals. Together, we foster an inclusive workplace culture that empowers individuals to thrive, and supports our mission to make a positive impact on people's lives.
R&D People & Organisation partners with leaders and colleagues across Novo Nordisk R&D to build the organisational capabilities, culture and talent needed to deliver on our ambitions. In the UK, this role supports our London and Oxford R&D hub while working closely with colleagues across the global R&D P&O organisation, P&O Centres of Excellence and the broader Novo Nordisk organisation.
You will join an international environment where collaboration across functions, geographies and organisational boundaries is central to how we work.
Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for someone who enjoys operational HR work, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and can confidently manage changing priorities.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Proven experience in HR administration, HR operations, HR coordination, payroll administration, or a similar HR support role within the United Kingdom.
- Strong knowledge of UK HR processes, including employment administration, right-to-work requirements, visas, benefits, and general employee lifecycle activities.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and data quality.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build trust and provide reliable support.
