Legal & Compliance Student Assistant

The Position

As a Legal & Compliance Student Assistant at Novo Nordisk, your responsibility will be to actively work with and provide guidance on legal matters within a broad range of fields, including pharmaceutical law, data privacy, competition law and more. In addition, your responsibility will be to support in managing and operationally executing legal matters across the affiliate.

Your Main Accountabilities will be to:

• Proactively work towards and evaluate new legal directions aimed at Line of Business (LoB) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation
• Provide operational guidance and develop resources to the local organisation on legal compliance in practice
• Support the primary liaison in providing guidance regarding compliance risk management and provide reliable compliance counsel on both general and specific business ethics and compliance matters to management and LoB
• Be responsible for drafting large, commercial contracts, while challenging and advising the organisation with regards to contract management
• Support the Legal, Compliance & Quality (LCQ) team with relevant ad-hoc tasks

Qualifications

As a Legal & Compliance Student Assistant at Novo Nordisk, you need to be currently pursuing a degree in Law, with at least 2 years remaining of your studies at a university or business school in Oslo, Norway.

To be effective in this role, you should have:

• Genuine interest, and preferably some experience with, varied legal affairs and compliance matters
• Good capabilities with MS Office programmes (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Excellent Norwegian and English language skills, in both written and spoken
• Some relevant previous work experience or extracurriculars

• You are a fast learner and can easily acquire new skills
• You are keen and willing to explore and deep dive into new legal topics and fields
• You bring good communicative and collaborative capabilities
• You are eager to gain and develop business understanding
• You take initiative and are flexible as well as proactive in the way you approach your work

• You are well organised, detail-oriented and have a quality and compliance mind-set
• You have a focus on being one team and have an “all hands-on deck” mentality

We are looking for law students. Previous relevant experience is preferable but not required. Relevant extracurriculars will also be considered.

The Legal, Compliance & Quality team in Novo Nordisk Norway is a small team with broad responsibilities and a varied workday. The team works cross-functionally, both internally in the team and with external teams. The job is in Nydalen, Oslo, where you will be part of a collaborative and supportive environment. Novo Nordisk Norway has close to 100 employees based both in-house at our offices in Nydalen, Oslo, and field-based employees all over the country. Candidates are required to be able to be present at the office as part of their work. Novo Nordisk also has a strong student network, both in Norway and internationally. Currentlly, Novo Nordisk Norway employs approx. 15 students throughout its different departments, ranging from students within pharmaceuticals, marketing, finance, human resources and legal.
