Your new role
As the Associate Director, Finance & Operations (F&O), you will be the strategic finance partner to the Norwegian leadership team, steering and executing the strategic direction for Novo Nordisk Norway. In collaboration with your team, you will lead pivotal change projects within the organisation, taking charge of Business Finance, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commercial Excellence, and Business Operations incl. onsite IT as a key business partner.
In this role, you will report directly to the General Manager and be a member of the Novo Nordisk Norway Leadership Team. This position is office-based and located in Oslo, Norway.
Your responsibilities will include to:
- Be a trusted business partner and advisor to the General Manager and the Norwegian Leadership Team, ensuring proactive monitoring of financial performance through data-driven analysis and insights.
- Oversee the achievement of financial targets by streamlining internal financial processes through digital innovation, shared services, and outsourcing, while ensuring strict compliance with local regulations in close collaboration with accounting.
- Lead the Finance and Operations teams consisting of 9 people, that includes Business Finance, Procurement (coveringe.g. sourcing) ), Commercial Excellence (covering e.g. sales force excellence, CRM system) , local onsite IT support, and facilities. At the same time you are accountable for the local Supply Chain Management to ensure timely delivery of products to customers as well as accounting, within both areas you closely collaborate with center of excellences across the Nordics.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives that empower teams to achieve positive financial, environmental, and social impacts, enhancing overall business performance.
Your skills & qualifications
As an F&O leader, you are adept at manoeuvring through complex matrix environments, excelling in working in cross-functional teams and driving impactful outcomes. With a strong enterprise business mindset and a proactive can-do attitude, you effectively translate strategic initiatives into actionable steps that yield positive results. You are a true team player who values collaboration and actively fosters a positive atmosphere within your team, contributing to a culture of engagement and success.
Your qualifications:
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in Business or Finance, complemented by a strong financial background and expertise, as well as a strong analytical mindset.
- 5+ years of relevant finance experience, demonstrating a proven finance partnering mindset, ideally within an affiliate environment.
- Experience leading and developing teams as people manager is required. Strong leadership skills, in line with our core values: Respect, Openness and Accountability
- Extensive expertise in financial management, including budget oversight, a deep understanding of P&L, and the ability to develop and analyse comprehensive business cases.
- A thorough understanding of the Norwegian pharmaceutical market is a significant advantage.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization; fluency in a Scandinavian language is a advantage.

Novo Nordisk Norwegian affiliate belongs to Business Area West, which is part of the broader Region Europe and Canada (EUCAN). It is a rapidly growing the business in a dynamic organization of around 85 employees dedicated to solidifying Novo Nordisk’s market presence through the launch of innovative products and enhancing patient access. - Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 1,093,520.00 to 1,749,630.00 NOK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience. - Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
