Medical Education Manager
North Sydney, New South Wales, AU
Shape how healthcare professionals understand and apply the science behind some of the most impactful therapies in diabetes and obesity care. In this role, you will bridge the gap between clinical evidence and real-world medical practice – turning complex science into education that changes how patients are treated.
Your new role
As Medical Education Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of medical education programmes that help healthcare professionals deepen their understanding of our therapeutic areas and the appropriate use of our treatments. You will be the driving force behind programmes that translate science into meaningful learning – from concept through to delivery and impact evaluation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and implementation of medical education strategies aligned with Medical Affairs priorities, therapeutic area plans, and identified healthcare professional needs
- Translating strategic priorities and scientific insights into high-quality, evidence-based educational materials and programmes across multiple formats and channels
- Partnering with external healthcare professionals, medical societies, and educational providers to design and deliver relevant, high-impact medical education
- Coordinating Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance review processes to ensure all materials and activities meet required standards and approvals
- Planning and facilitating medical education events, symposia, workshops, and training programmes – leveraging digital platforms and innovative formats to broaden reach
- Managing the medical education budget and overseeing external agencies, speakers, and vendors to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance
- Evaluating programme effectiveness and using engagement data and participant feedback to continuously optimise education delivery and content
- Travel is required for this role (up to 30%), with occasional evening or weekend commitments for events.
Your new department
Within this area, you will join a team dedicated to advancing medical education and ensuring healthcare professionals have access to the latest scientific evidence and clinical insights. This is a collaborative, cross-functional environment where you will work closely with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Commercial, and Market Access colleagues, as well as external education partners. Your work will directly shape how our science reaches the professionals who care for patients every day.
Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for someone who combines deep scientific expertise with a passion for education and the ability to manage complex projects across multiple stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- A degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related field (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent)
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in medical education, medical affairs, or a related function within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, ideally with experience in diabetes, obesity, or rare disease therapeutic areas
- Strong understanding of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and medical governance processes
- Excellent scientific writing, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, engaging educational content
- Proven project management experience with the ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and external partners
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, or digital education platforms
