Your New Role
As Manager – Capability Building, you will plan, implement, and drive capability-building initiatives that strengthen the performance and effectiveness of the sales organisation. You will lead the zonal capability building agenda, ensuring strong induction and continuous development for sales managers while enabling Novo Nordisk selling excellence models at the regional level. Working closely with Associate Directors – Sales, you will identify capability gaps, prioritize interventions, and contribute to APAC-level capability building through regional projects and best-practice sharing.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, design, and implement capability building strategies aligned to business objectives and zonal priorities
- Drive and govern BU and zonal capability building programs with consistent quality and measurable outcomes
- Champion Novo Nordisk sales models and selling excellence frameworks through coaching, enablement, and field reinforcement
- Align with Associate Directors–Sales, to diagnose capability needs and co-create training/capability plans
- Lead execution of priority capability initiatives with zonal sales leadership
- Contribute to and lead APAC cross-market capability building initiatives (standardization, forums, regional projects)
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver induction programs for newly recruited Regional People Managers and other sales roles
- Support leadership development initiatives for first-line and regional sales managers
- Evaluate effectiveness of sales-related training at zonal level and ensure continuous improvement
- Analyse training outcomes and provide actionable feedback to internal/external training partners to improve trainer effectiveness
- Serve as custodian of Commercial Capability Building records, documentation, and zonal MIS to ensure governance and compliance
- Collaborate with BU Heads, RMs, Head Office Capability Building/Training teams to ensure alignment across levels
Your Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- You should have a Full-Time Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related discipline
- You should have a minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
- You should have at least 5 years of experience as a Training Manager in a reputed multinational.
- You must have hard skills in training/capability strategy, delivery & facilitation, program evaluation, and MIS/training governance.
- You must be able to provide actionable feedback to internal/external training partners.
- You must have strong soft skills in communication, planning & follow-through, stakeholder management, and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to relocate and travel regionally as required.

The Commercial Capability Building team at Novo Nordisk India builds commercial capability by creating and delivering focused learning solutions. The department is responsible for designing, delivering, and governing training and capability programs that strengthen selling excellence. You will partner with Head Office Capability Building/Training teams and zone leadership to ensure programs are aligned, effective, and compliant. Your work also extends to APAC-level initiatives, enabling shared learning and standardization across markets.
