This is a 12-month contract.
Your new role
As Medical Advisor on the Cardiometabolic team, you will serve as the scientific expert and medical strategic lead for your therapeutic area. Your key responsibilities include:

Develop and execute the annual and long term cardiometabolic medical strategy and tactical plans tailored to the target healthcare professionals ensuring scientific accuracy and compliance.

Key Opinion Leader (KOL) identification and development

Inclusion of key customer and environmental insights to validate and adjust the medical strategy

Monitor and develop Competitive landscape response strategies as required.

Execution and budget management of key tactics including but not limited to Advisory Boards, Consultancy or Investigator meetings and Clinical Care Pathway Optimization projects

Identification of evidence gaps and contribute and collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders towards evidence generation activities (RWE, ISS, Phase IV or outcomes studies)

Provide medical and scientific support for regulatory, market/patient access, and brand strategy development, acting as a trusted partner across departments.

Promotional, communications and Disease state reviews and approvals through relevant system (e.g. VVPM)

In collaboration with the Medical Excellence Team, deliver medical training to commercial and/or medical teams to ensure scientific understanding, improve capabilities and message alignment

Collaborate with the CMMs if requested to deliver on important clinical development objectives.

May act as a core member of regional and global medical teams representing the Canadian medical perspective

Drive the affiliate’s publication strategy, ensuring timely development of abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.

Ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards while maintaining the highest levels of scientific integrity.

Your skills and qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:

An advanced degree in a relevant scientific field PhD, MD, or PharmD/pharmacist Masters degree combined with relevant clinical and professional experience may be considered.

Legally permitted to work in Canada
-
Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in the pharmaceutical industry across medical, clinical, or HCP facing role experience in cardiometabolic therapeutic areas (cardiology, diabetes, obesity, metabolic health) will be considered a strong advantage.

Proven understanding of evidence-based medicine and clinical practice, including direct patient care experience and deep understanding of with the Canadian healthcare, regulatory and reimbursement systems.

Solid mastery and application of key regulations including Health Canada Guidance, Innovation Medicines Canada, PAAB

Strong scientific writing, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and effectively manage multiple internal and external stakeholders at various seniority levels.

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, demonstrating agility, prioritization, and attention to detail.

English and French bilingualism would be an asset
