Communications Manager

Novo Nordisk Canada is seeking a communications Manager to deliver integrated internal and external communications that strengthen employee engagement, support leaders, and protect and enhance corporate reputation. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to localize global priorities, develop high-quality content, and measure communications impact in a regulated environment.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Execute integrated communications plans across internal and external channels; localize global campaigns for Canada.
  • Manage and update digital channels (intranet/SharePoint, newsletters, email distributions, corporate web pages).
  • Create and maintain communications assets (key messages, speaking notes, presentations, town hall materials, unbranded/disease-awareness content), coordinating required reviews (e.g., medical/legal/regulatory/compliance).
  • Define KPIs and evaluate channel and campaign performance; translate insights into continuous improvements.
  • Provide communications counsel to senior leaders; support external positioning, stakeholder communications, and issues response.
  • Monitor media/social and the external environment; produce insights and support issues/crisis readiness materials (e.g., Q&As, holding statements).

 

What you bring

  • Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–10 years of communications experience (minimum 5 years progressive).
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver integrated internal and external communications; regulated industry experience preferred (pharma/healthcare ideal).
  • Strong writing/editing skills and ability to translate complex topics into clear, audience-appropriate content.
  • Experience supporting leaders with message development and employee communications (e.g., town halls, change and engagement initiatives).
  • Comfort managing digital channels and using analytics/metrics to optimize performance.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder partnership skills; ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • Experience managing agencies/vendors (including budgets, timelines, and quality).

Salary: For this role, the annual base salary ranges from $116,680 –$166,680. The placement in the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on your skills, competencies, and knowledge, and how your relevant experience matches the position requirements.

 

Incentives: Based on the role’s level and other factors, the salary package may include short-term (STI) and/or long-term (LTI) incentives.
