Your new role
As our Business Ethics and Compliance Manager in the Mexico affiliate, you will own the full Ethics & Compliance programme – acting as both a strategic partner to the business and an independent voice that safeguards integrity. You will combine deep compliance expertise with data-driven insights and a passion for simplification to ensure we do the right thing, the right way, at speed.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement and monitor the customised Ethics & Compliance Plan for Mexico, aligned with Emerging Markets initiatives, affiliate priorities and key local risks
- Coordinate timely and effective E&C Committees, including agendas, risk insights, decisions, action tracking and management reporting
- Enable fast and compliant decisions for priority business initiatives, launches, partnerships and new engagement models while protecting patients, employees and the company
- Define, monitor and report programme KPIs, trends and mitigation status to local and regional stakeholders, ensuring clear ownership and accountability
- Lead robust E&C risk assessments and ensure high-priority risks have proportionate mitigation plans, accountable owners and effectiveness follow-up
- Generate insights and trends through data analytics and Power BI, aligned with the Compliance Programme and priority business risks
- Strengthen Data Privacy culture and maturity; coordinate response and remediation for data breaches with relevant stakeholders
- Maintain full control of the Third-Party Representatives lifecycle, applying risk-based due diligence, contracting, training and monitoring
- Review and simplify key E&C processes to remove friction, identify automation opportunities and standardise monitoring for improved efficiency and transparency
- Develop, implement and coordinate the annual E&C awareness, education and training plan in line with the Code of Business Conduct, OneCode and relevant industry codes
- Drive a culture of business integrity through Business Ethics Days, Tone-at-the-Top activities and the empowerment of people managers
- Promote a Speak Up culture, execute annual awareness campaigns and ensure employees understand reporting channels, confidentiality and non-retaliation expectations
- Execute the risk-based E&C monitoring plan, health checks and proactive assurance activities on key risks and value-creation initiatives
- Prepare the affiliate for internal and external audits, manage findings and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions
- Collaborate with the Compliance Hotline and relevant departments on investigations and data breaches, supporting fair and timely resolution
- Complete accurate and timely CETIFARMA transparency reporting
Your new department
The Legal, Ethics & Compliance team in the Mexico affiliate serves as the backbone of responsible business conduct. You will work cross-functionally with the Leadership Team, Business Units, Medical, Finance, People & Organisation and Corporate Affairs – translating risks and requirements into clear, practical solutions that enable growth while upholding the highest standards of integrity. This is a role with high visibility, genuine independence and the opportunity to shape how compliance is experienced across the entire organisation.
Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a compliance professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and thrives in a fast-paced, international environment. You will bring:
- A university degree and minimum 5 years' experience in Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Risk, Audit or related functions – preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or another highly regulated sector
- Demonstrated experience developing, executing and monitoring ethics and compliance programmes, including risk assessments, mitigation plans, monitoring, audits, investigations and corrective actions
- Knowledge of the legal, regulatory and industry-code environment relevant to the pharmaceutical industry in Mexico, including Data Privacy, Third Party Representatives, transfer of value, anti-money laundering, HCP engagement and transparency reporting
- Experience using data analytics and Power BI to generate insights and support compliance monitoring and management reporting
- A track record in process automation, standardisation, digital transformation and implementation of new systems or ways of working
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish
- High integrity, sound judgement, strong strategic thinking and the ability to influence stakeholders at different organisational levels while navigating ambiguity and delivering with quality under pressure
