The position
This person will establish and maintain long-term peer-to-peer clinical and scientific relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals. They will engage these specialists at academic institutions and clinics to increase disease/brand awareness, utilization, and
competitive positioning of assigned medicines within Oceania. The role will report to the MSL Manager - Victoria.

  • A Senior MSL enhances patients' lives by serving as a medical leader, effectively conveying comprehensive medical knowledge and enhancing the medical advantages of our medicines and services. A Senior MSL is devoted to advancing Novo Nordisk’s (NN) therapeutic strategies with the goal of enhancing patient outcomes and ensuring quality care in alignment with overarching medical goals, plans, and NN Oceania policies.
  • Executing plans for timely, accurate, and credible medical communication to and from internal and external customers through direct and indirect interactions. Collaborating cross-functionally among Marketing, Sales, Patient Access and Public Affairs (PAPA), Clinical Medical Regulatory (CMR), Clinical Development Centre (CDC), as well as Global Medical Affairs (GMA) to maximize NN's product portfolio from medical and scientific perspectives.
  • Manage pre-launch and product launch preparation, including training, KOL mapping, and site identification assistance to CDC and PAPA. Utilizing medical and scientific liaison communication platforms regularly by reviewing and sharing relevant literature as it becomes available to ensure alignment in external communications among all medical scientific liaisons.
  • Create and execute an engagement plan for key customers by organizing activities and development programs aimed at enhancing customers' awareness and advocacy of the scientific and medical attributes of our products.

 

Qualifications

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD is the minimum preferred education.
  • A minimum of 3 years' MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required, with extensive experience in Obesity and Diabetes preferred.
  • Approximately 70% travel (including overnight stays) is necessary, covering regional and interstate locations. A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Frequently works during evenings and weekends to attend congresses/forums.
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and extensive cross-functional collaboration are essential.
