This role will be reporting to the Senior Medical Manager, Frontline Medical Excellence.
The position
The Medical Science Liaison will drive KOL (Key Opinion Leader) scientific communication and provide medical support to both internal and external stakeholders regarding Novo Nordisk medicines in alignment with current global strategic objectives as well as local business needs, ensuring that the profile of Novo Nordisk remains high amongst KOLs, HCPs and patients.
Other role expectations are:
- The role supports communication of clinical value propositions and scientific narratives, manages Individual Engagement Plans for Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and ensures alignment with affiliate strategy and ethical standards. It also implements the Medical Affairs strategy by fostering relationships with KOLs to facilitate unbiased scientific information exchange and enhance advocacy for relevant therapy areas at the local level.
- The role acts as a scientific expert, advising relevant scientific information, supporting medical education and HCP engagements while ensuring compliance with ethical standards, and responding to medical inquiries. It also provides medical guidance and training for internal associates and supports pre-launch and launch activities within the affiliate.
- The role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders to enhance the profile of Novo Nordisk, while acting as the primary liaison between healthcare professionals (HCPs) or patients and Novo Nordisk Philippines to effectively communicate the scientific foundations of the company's targeted disease and therapy areas.
- The role involves supporting data generation activities by conducting study site visits and liaising with study investigators, as well as facilitating the internal processes related to investigator-sponsored trials.
- The role focuses on driving medical insight generation to comprehend the unmet needs of patients, physicians, and healthcare systems, while identifying and engaging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other stakeholders. Additionally, it involves partnering with healthcare systems and medical associations to develop solutions along clinical care pathways that enhance care delivery and improve patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Must be a locally licensed physician in the Philippines. Post graduate medical qualification is desirable.
- Minimum 1 year of post licensure experience preferably in pharma industry
- Knowing the local dialect and possess effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience of the disease area (Diabetes, Cardiovascular, other Endocrine-related disorders, Hemophilia) as well as experience with the local healthcare landscape and customers would be an advantage.
