As a Commercial Excellence Professional in Region Germany, you act as a business partner who supports the management and business unit stakeholders on strategic and tactical decisions about customer engagement by providing insights and recommendations to optimize marketing and sales activities


About the department

The Commercial Excellence department supports the management team in shaping and executing the marketing and sales strategy of each business unit. Specifically, we aspire to enable frontline and customer-facing stakeholders in finding the right customers and the best way to engage with them. The Position

In your new role you will conduct regional market and customer potential analyses as well as performance reports, both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues. You will leverage different tools and data sources and suggest appropriate KPIs for our marketing and sales activities. Besides analog channels (Sales Force Effectiveness), you will also include digital channels for customer engagement in your analyses.

You will also;
•    actively contribute new ideas and reliably prepare analyses upon request from your stakeholders 
•    based on your analyses and discussions with the business unit, you will derive recommendations and present them in a structured manner
•    be curious about new data sources and digital tools such as our CRM system, and you enjoy teaching others how to use the tools.
•    manage cross-functional projects, e.g. coordinate meetings and monitor progress, and give presentations to various stakeholders (e.g., targeting & segmentation projects, field force setup, or multi-channel mix strategies).
•    have to spot gaps in our internal processes, after which initiate changes and automate where possible will be done in collaboration with your colleagues. 

A key part of your job will also be designing the incentive system for our frontline stakeholders. You will actively provide ideas for motivating bonus components and will be responsible for calculating targets. Additionally, you will contribute to the regular call plan processes and prepare territory or heat maps.



  • A successfully completed Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or PhD preferred
  • 2+ years of professional experience in commercial excellence, finance, consulting, sales or similar
  • Pharma market knowledge, including data sources
  • Business acumen
  • Project management skills, very good analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); skills in and experiences with Alteryx, PowerBI, QlikSense or Python/R are a plus
  • Business fluent in English and ideally good knowledge of German
