About the department


The External Affairs department comprises various areas, including Governmental Affairs, Patient Relations, the Health Policy Field Service, and Communications. As a result, the topics and requirements in the department are very diverse and range from creating conditions for regional market access to establishing and maintaining relationships with patient organizations and forging (health) policy links at both national and regional level. In addition, the External Affairs department is responsible for strategically important corporate initiatives, such as Cities Changing Diabetes (CCD), or Defeat Diabetes, our corporate social responsibility.


About the position


As Senior Corporate Project Manager External Affairs, you will work on strategically important projects in the External Affairs department and take over project management for selected projects.


Together with the Senior Director External Affairs, you will ensure that strategic corporate initiatives are planned, coordinated, and executed. This also  includes the independent preparation of necessary presentations in German and English.


You evaluate business development opportunities foresightedly in close coordination with the relevant cross-functional working groups going beyond the existing therapeutic areas. You will also support the development and implementation of strategies to sustainably secure regional market access for in-market, launch and pipeline products.


An important area of responsibility is the field of "Sustainability". Here, you will play a key role in driving our sustainability strategy for Germany, which includes one of our flagship projects, Cities Changing Diabetes (CDD). You will work closely with external stakeholders in the healthcare sector as well as with our healthcare policy field force and the capital office in Berlin.


Your qualifications


  • Completed university degree in business or natural sciences ideally in health economics or comparable education;


  • Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the German health care system, pharmaceutical legislation and European and German market access requirements (pricing and distribution rules, supply research);


  • Proven experience in a similar external affairs position within the pharmaceutical industry combined with a strong understanding of the needs of the respective stakeholders;


  • Very good English and German language skills, spoken and written;
