Head of Patient Advocacy

If your answer is YES to these questions, we have an interesting job opportunity for you as our new Patient Advocacy Head at Novo Nordisk Spain.
The position
As our Patient Advocacy Head, you will design and execute the Novo Nordisk’s Patient Advocacy Strategy, with the aim to support Patients Associations to its legitimate right to have better health.
You will be the responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of patient’s relations within the organization. This includes building and maintaining positive relationships with patient’s associations/caregivers and ensure Novo Nordisk positioning and reputation among these stakeholder’s groups.
Some of your responsibilities will be to:
- Lead, manage and develop direct reports through Novo Nordisk Way principles, ensuring a high-performance mind-set and results of both individual and team.
- Build and maintain relationships with patient advocacy groups, patient communities, and key stakeholders. Also, represent the organization in public patient forums and engage with policymakers to advance patient-centred policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Market Access & Public Affairs, Marketing, Medical Affairs) to ensure patient-centricity is incorporated into all initiatives and that their needs are met.
- Develop and implement patient education programs and patient support programs to improve patient understanding of their health conditions and health condition management. Identify opportunities to engage with Patient Associations in clinical research and drug development processes.
- Follow up and be updated on the national and regional status of the NN interest diseases to identify opportunities for public-private partnership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public health, or a related field.
- Proven experience setting and developing the Patient Advocacy strategy within a pharmaceutical company. Experience leading teams is also required for this role.
- Deep understanding of patient-centricity and its importance in healthcare combined with good vision of the drug life-cycle. Knowledge of the Spanish Healthcare System will be an advantage.
- Excellent communications skills both in Spanish and in English.
As a person you have strong leadership and collaborative skills. You thrive in fast-paced environment being able to manage competing priorities and make decisions autonomously. Candidates should also excel in stakeholder management at very different levels.
About the Department
Under this role, you will be part of the Novo Nordisk Spain MAPA (Market Access & Public Affairs) management team, reporting to its Senior Director. MAPA covers different areas and engages diverse stakeholders across Political and National & Regional Healthcare landscape (Health Administration, Patient Associations, Media) to forge sustainable initiatives and solutions that drive patient access towards its innovative medicines and devices.
You will directly lead a team of Patient Advocacy experts and collaborate with a wide range of internal colleagues to achieve our company goals.
