The Position
Novo Nordisk's pipeline in rare diseases spans several therapeutic areas, including rare blood disorders and rare endocrine disorders. We have new treatment for new areas in the horizon, always with the same purpose: advancing treatments that address the unique challenges faced by individuals with these conditions, aiming to improve diagnosis, treatment, and overall management of rare diseases.
As a Head of Medical Affairs Rare Disease, you will drive the medical strategy and lead the plan execution of an exciting pipeline, directly and through the management of the Team.
Among your main responsibilities will be:
- Be a true leader: foster the team to take ownership and act boldly, coach and share feedback, understand and identify training needs, ensure team well-being and motivation…
- Defining the KOL engagement strategy, building and growing a solid scientific relation with the appropriate physicians, Scientific Societies and other relevant stakeholders
- Provide cross-functional expertise to internal and external stakeholders and represent Novo Nordisk Spain at local and global meetings.
- Ensuring accuracy of medical and scientific information regarding Novo Nordisk products through all channels. Working according to Business Ethics procedures, local law, NNWay and NN policies & guidelines.
Qualifications
- Education: Medical Doctor
- Solid experience and track record in the pharmaceutical industry gained from Medical affairs area. At least 5 years holding a leadership role, driving the medical strategy and leading both functional and cross functional teams.
- Experience with a wide range of Therapeutical Areas, showing the ability to learn and adapt to different environments and challenges. Experience in Rare Diseases is required, ideally in Haemophilia or Endocrine disorders.
- Fluent English and Spanish
As a person, you are a strong collaborator and communicator, capable of having deep scientific dialogues with KOLs and other stakeholders. You are also a natural leader able to take the team to the next level. Navigating the uncertainty, setting director and making decisions with limited information is also key for this role. Finally, you share our passion and determination to improve patients’ lives.
About the Department
Under this role, you will report to the VP of Clinical, Medical & Regulatory while working in close collaboration with the RareD BU Senior Director.
The CMR department includes many passionate colleagues who lead the development of medicines, bringing those to patients and driving change in those disease areas that we work in, by focusing on improving outcomes and reducing health inequalities.
