Do you have a passion for developing and implementing innovative statistical methods in clinical studies? Would you like to continue your research career in a leading pharmaceutical company? Are you a highly experienced statistician looking for an exciting opportunity to apply your methodological skills to help shape how we turn ideas into life-changing medicines?

If so, this may be the job for you. Become our next Statistician for statistical methodology development. We have two openings available. Apply now!

The positions

We are looking for two statisticians with strong methodological background in causal inference and evidence synthesis, to bring Novo Nordisk at the forefront of statistical methodological development in the pharmaceutical industry.

As an expert in causal inference you will be responsible for developing and implementing statistical methodologies focusing on optimising the interplay between clinical research questions, trial designs, and statistical inference methods. As such you will provide expert advice on the use of causal inference methods in randomised clinical trials and relevant strategies for handling post randomisation events.

As an expert in evidence synthesis you will be responsible for developing and implementing statistical methodologies focusing on Bayesian methods, quantitative evidence synthesis, bias modelling and decision analytic modelling. As such you will provide expert advice on transportability and generalisability of research data and the use of multiple data sources with a specific focus on enriching randomised clinical studies with for instance real world data.

In both positions you will ensure knowledge-sharing, training and mentoring of statisticians across our Biostatistics organisation in statistical methodology in general and in relation to their clinical projects. You will interact cross-functionally with stakeholders and management from our project organisation to explain the added value generated by new methodologies. To succeed in this position, it is essential that you are communicating effectively and capable of explaining complex theory in a simple way.

As an expert in your field, you are also expected to establish and engage in external research collaborations with academia, scientists, regulators and other organisations. You will represent Novo Nordisk internationally at relevant cross-industry working groups and conferences, and drive initiation of industrial master thesis/PhD/post-doc collaborations as well as scientific publications. Prior experience in driving external engagement and collaboration will be an advantage.

   The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong background in mathematics and statistics equivalent to PhD.
  • A proven track record of research within causal inference methodology.

  • A proven track record of research within Bayesian inference, meta-analysis, or a related discipline within evidence synthesis.

It will be an advantage if you have:

  • Experience from clinical drug development.
