About the Department
In OFP we are more than 1000 colleagues and OFP MDev employs approximately 140 highly skilled and motivated employees. OFP MDEV develop and upscale our production processes for our new factories. This involves IPC method validation, qualification of equipment, validation of production processes and pilot production.  

As Vice President of OFP MDev, you will report directly to the Corporate Vice President for Oral Finished Products and be a member of the site management team. Furthermore, you will be a member of CMCForum and CMC Patent Group.


The position
We are looking for a Vice president who will lead the OFP MDev unit, that support production in OFP, OPF and HRT on products, processes, and analyses as well as supporting analytical methods and processes regarding existing and new products. The Vice President will establish and ensure fulfilment of strategic objectives and be responsible for establishing and maintaining a world class level of competencies within development of oral products at Novo Nordisk.

The scope of responsibility as Vice President for OFP MDev include:

  • Identifying, developing, and implementing optimisation projects to make costs reductions/increase yield in production processes thereby meeting Product Supply’s COGS goals
  • Lead our Tech and Digitalization unit and projects for OFP and represent OFP in relevant STG across NN
  • Identify and execute development projects or optimization of existing products and processes within OFP and OPF
  • Provide high performing projects teams by securing significant professional skills, project management skills and strong personal competencies within the Tabletting PG group
  • Ensure the quality of the work processes in the area as well as knowledge of GMP


As Vice President you will establish and continuously optimise the organisation by effectively managing and setting direction for the area. This includes recruiting the right leadership and establishing a clear organisational structure and performance management system. You will also secure an effective implementation of our value chain and ensure we have the right technical and innovative competences to close existing and predicted core competence gaps.

Your key stakeholders will be the OFP organisation, MDev departments across PSQIT, CMC Oral Protein Formulation and other CMC Development CVP areas. Furthermore, you will collaborate with Global Quality, PD Com, R&ED, CD and Regulatory Affairs. It is essential to hold a proactive and flexible approach to stakeholders, taking stakeholder challenges into account and ensuring common goal and buy in – all in order to ensure Novo Nordisk business results.


You hold a MSc. in Natural Sciences, Engineering or similar and have at least 5 years of management experience in the pharmaceutical industry within production. The right candidate has experience on the drug development and life cycle management process, preferably from direct participation in project teams through substantial parts of the product development life cycles. You bring a substantial understanding of medicinal product (drug or device) development and a strong business understanding of R&D and manufacturing environments.

On a personal level you are a result oriented and present leader who encourages business improvement and growth by ensuring continuous focus on change and improvement. You appreciate and understands the business benefit of individual differences and deals effectively with people from diverse professional, cultural, and geographical backgrounds. The ability to delegate, motivate and empower front line managers, while maintaining a strong grasp on results and performance is a prerequisite for success. You should also be able to foster innovation and continuous improvements and have the analytical capacity to maintain the overview in complex situations.
