The position

 

We are searching for a highly skilled specialist with expertise from the pharmaceutical industry. The primary purpose of the position is to drive research activities within diverse molecular formats, with focus on the chemical space of oligonucleotides, proteins, and peptides.

 

Your focus will be devoted to the early research pipeline, where new ideas for innovative therapeutics are generated and matured into research projects. The position includes the laboratory synthesis of complex molecules, especially within oligonucleotide chemistry, typically within a chemistry project group. You will be part of a highly interdisciplinary research team with focus on molecular innovation and overall project goals. The position requires a curiosity-driven mindset combined with the ability to take initiative and utilize synergies beyond areas of own expertise. The process of bringing ideas from research to first human dose, and ultimately make a difference for patients with chronic metabolic disease, is a vital component in all that we do. Hence the position requires the ability to keep a holistic overview and understand the strategic fit of new ideas. Stakeholder management and presentations to local and senior management are vital elements, which necessitate the ability to clearly communicate goals and visions and plan activities accordingly.  

 

 

Qualifications

  • You keep a holistic view and readily spots strategic fits for new ideas
  • You are skilled in clear communication of ideas and projects to stakeholders
  • You hold a PhD in organic chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline
  • You have +3 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry or academic setting working with oligonucleotide, and preferably also peptide and protein chemistry
  • You have proven experience within oligonucleotide drug discovery
  • Global experience is an advantage

Research Chemistry excels in the discovery and development of multiple molecular formats for the treatment of diabetes, obesity and other serious chronic diseases. We are organized in three departments with people of multiple nationalities and global experience. Design and synthesis of peptides and modified proteins are core elements of our daily work, combined with an emerging need to explore more complex molecular formats.
