Senior Research Scientist
Måløv, Capital Region of Denmark, DK
Biophysics & Injectable Formulation
Måløv, Denmark
We are seeking a talented and motivated colleague to join our Biophysics and Injectable Formulation team. In this role you will collaborate across disciplines to accelerate research and help design the next generation of pharmaceuticals that meet unmet patient needs.
Do you thrive in an international scientific environment with a focus on empowerment, continuous improvement, and data-driven decisions? Then apply today!
Your new role
In Biophysics and Injectable Formulation, we engage in project teams and apply our technologies for biophysical characterisation and development of fit-for-purpose injectable formulations. We cover a diverse set of drug molecule modalities from peptides, proteins, monoclonal antibodies to multi-specific formats. The role offers a high level of independence and flexibility within the research project framework. You will work closely with scientists within biology, chemistry, recombinant technologies at Novo Nordisk on a daily basis, and collaborate occasionally with external industry and academic partners.
Your responsibilities include:
- Biophysical characterisation and screening of early hits during the discovery phase to development of a Phase 1 formulation that will be transferred to our development organisation.
- Utilising state-of-the-art biophysical techniques like light scattering, chromatography, SAXS, nanoDSF, FIDA etc. in research projects.
- Design experiments that will address project needs and give recommendations to the molecule design and selection, aiming for optimal developability for future medicines.
- Working alongside talented scientist and laboratory technician colleagues, you will share ideas and inspiration across different scientific specialisations.
- Drive implementation of new technologies and ways of working in the department.
About the department
The Biophysics and Injectable Formulation research area consists of three departments that share biophysical characterisation of biomolecules and injectable formulation development as core tasks. We house a broad portfolio of state-of-the-art biophysical instrumentation and automation. We are part of the Drug Product Research unit that is overall responsible for early injectable and oral formulation development and analyses of Drug Products across the entire Novo Nordisk research portfolio.
Your skills & qualifications
You hold a relevant scientific degree, preferably PhD in Life Sciences, have a comprehensive understanding of protein biochemistry and biophysics and preferably with PostDoc and/or industrial research experience. You have in depth experience within experimental biophysics, or formulation development of biopharmaceuticals such as peptides and proteins.
In addition, the following qualifications will be an advantage:
- Strong collaboration and networking skills; proven ability to contribute in matrix project teams.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to draw and communicate clear conclusions from complex data.
- Desire to work in the laboratory and ability to develop fit-for-purpose assays in a high-throughput format.
- Experience with protein engineering.
- SAXS experience.
You possess excellent communication skills and value teamwork over individual delivery to find solutions to complicated challenges. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is a prerequisite.
