Your new role
In the role of Senior Laboratory Technician, your main objective will be to formulate therapeutic proteins and peptides into oral solid dosage forms, as well as to characterize and analyze these dosage forms. You will collaborate closely with scientists and fellow technicians in the team.
You will spend most of your time in the laboratory; however, you will also be responsible for processing and reporting the data obtained. Your daily activities may vary from routine tasks to more exploratory and innovative work.
The results of your laboratory work will be reported in English using electronic laboratory notebooks. You will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment. You can look forward to a position with a wide range of scientific and practical challenges in a diverse, international team where English is both the working and social language.
As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will:
- Plan and conduct laboratory experiments

- Take responsibility for day-to-day laboratory operations, including setting up experiments and performing equipment maintenance

Your new department
Novo Nordisk is committed to pushing the boundaries of oral delivery of biologics. Building on our success in developing the world’s first GLP-1 peptide in tablet form, we are expanding our efforts to develop the next generation of oral therapies. A key part of this ambition is strengthening our capabilities within formulation sciences.
At Oral Delivery Technologies, you will join an international, ambitious, and collaborative early research team. The team consists of eleven scientists, four technicians, a student assistant, and a PhD student, all working together to develop peptide and protein formulation concepts that enable oral drug delivery for type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Based in Måløv, Greater Copenhagen, Denmark, you will be co-located with colleagues across the full research value chain for peptide and protein research. This is ground-breaking work with the potential to improve the lives of millions of people living with chronic conditions.
Your skills and qualifications
You are curiosity-driven and enjoy working hands-on in the laboratory with both formulation and characterization/analysis tasks. You thrive in a mix of routine tasks and complex problem-solving and are willing to learn new methods and work with new equipment. You are well-structured in your work and accustomed to producing high-quality reports based on the data you collect. You are a team player with strong communication skills and share knowledge and experience openly with other team members.
Furthermore, your qualifications include:
- A minimum of 4 years of practical laboratory experience, including:
- Tablet and capsule manufacturing and associated unit operations, e.g. spray drying, coating, granulation, and general powder handling
- Preferably also experience with relevant methods for characterization and/or analysis of oral solid dosage forms and/or APIs, e.g. dissolution and disintegration studies, as well as HPLC, XRPD, DVS, DSC, TGA, etc.
- Education as a Laboratory Technician or equivalent
- Knowledge of or interest in oral drug delivery technologies and characterization methods is an advantage
- Fluency in written and spoken English

Salary and Benefits: The Annual Base Salary ranges from 499,600.00 to 734,400.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
A competitive benefits package is offered, including a pension scheme (currently 13% employer contribution and 5% employee contribution) in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement for Salaried Employees (Industriens Funktionæroverenskomst or “IFO”). Benefits also include a free choice account of currently 11% and 4% holiday allowance.
