Your new role 

We are looking for a Strategy Project Manager/Director to join the team of Scientific strategy directors/managers in the Global Research Executive Office driving key strategic initiatives and ensure alignment among stakeholders within Research and Development (R&D), across the Novo Nordisk Value chain and in particular the Commercial organisations. The person will also serve as a trusted advisor for the Global Research Leadership team members – in particular the new leader of the Diabetes and Complications Research Therapeutic Area, responsible for discovering and progressing an industry leading portfolio fuelling the R&D pipeline in the Diabetes and complications therapeutic space.  

 

Your main responsibilities will be:  

  • Serve as a strategic advisor.   

  • Initiate, drive and oversee key strategic initiatives in alignment with stakeholders and the larger R&D organisation.  

  • Provide executive business support to the Global Research Leadership team. Manage and lead cross-functional projects across different Global Research areas and across other areas within Research and Development.  

  • Ensure effective portfolio management and decision-making in relation to our project pipeline. Prepare material tailored to various audiences, including governance interactions and high-level executive leadership meetings   

 

  

Your new department  

 

The Global Research Executive Office and Operations area is part of the Global Research SVP area in Research & Development in Novo Nordisk. This team drives the implementation of cutting-edge strategies and technologies and the rapid integration of innovations to meet evolving patient needs. Besides being responsible for driving business processes, strategy development and deployment and cross organizational projects, the area includes departments/teams working to secure our license to operate and linking business to data and digital.   

Based in Måløv, Copenhagen, Denmark, the Global Research Executive Office and Operations is a strong and diverse team consisting of ~30 dedicated colleagues – hereof 3 colleagues in the role as strategy directors/partners working closely with the SVP leadership team members and collaborating closely with stakeholders across R&D and commercial having significant impact on as well run of business as building of the future. Your skills & qualifications 

Ideally, you have the following qualifications or similar:  

  • A graduate-level university degree (MSc, PhD), preferably in Natural Sciences or similar  

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience working within strategy or project management; alternatively, a successful track record from a consulting firm, preferably having worked within the pharmaceutical industry.   

  • Experience working in a complex, interdisciplinary organisation within a global context.  

  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex problems with creative solutions and a strong track record of creating business results with impact at senior management level. 

  • Proven ability to build long lasting partnerships and foster collaboration, facilitating dialogue with stakeholders inside and outside of Novo Nordisk   

 

You are result-driven and possess a high energy and drive, and you have an enterprise mindset, caring for the bigger picture without losing sight of important details. Moreover, you have an excellent ability to establish cross-organisational collaborations while being a strong communicator with fluency in English – both orally and in writing. You are an innovative and strategic problem-solver with a creative and global mindset.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 940,800.00 to 1,448,700.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position. 

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience. 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level,  location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
