The position

Oral drug delivery is a key component of our company’s strategy, and your role as Scientific Director is pertinent for us to progress. You will be part of a cross-functional team in which scientific goals require contributions from many highly specialized colleagues across Research & Early Development. You will help defining scientific direction and catalyse technological innovations for the department. Your main responsibility will be to generate novel concepts and mature strategies in order to drive our oral formulation research forward. The day to day activities will involve networking, evaluation/planning, execution, and translation from ideation into research. The innovation and scientific leadership are vital parts of your role, working across functions and people to develop both our portfolio and our organization.

As a Scientific Director you will furthermore:

  • Drive innovative research with a highly business strategic fit, global mindset, and cross-functional focus.
  • Oversee the strategy and execution of research studies to evaluate formulations, drug delivery system, and early drug product process development.
  • Serve as a scientific expert and technical resource across the function.
  • Develop new technologies to advance state of the art oral formulations, early drug product processes, and delivery systems for oral drug products.
  • Be an effective communicator of ideas, project goals and results to team members across functional roles/areas. Proactively identify internal and external business opportunities and develop solutions and best practices in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

 

Qualifications

You hold a relevant PhD degree in Life Sciences (pharmaceutical sciences or other relevant discipline) and have minimum 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical experience, including oral solid dosage forms and as well as a history of driving strategical innovation forward.

Furthermore, to be a successful candidate we expect:

  • Expertise within tablet formulation or other solid dosage forms and related processes.
  • Proven track record of driving innovative strategic initiatives across functional areas.
  • Effective collaboration and networking skills to forge strong relationships and alliances at all levels, internally & externally.
  • High influencing skills and holistic organizational view to effectively interact with internal and external partners to drive efficient evaluation and execution of the opportunities.
  • Strong record of publishing primary research in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals of international scientific reputation.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

About the department
