Do you want to play a key role in advancing early-stage drug discovery through protein and peptide purification? We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Scientist to join Purification Research in Måløv, Denmark. In this role, you will contribute to scientific innovation and ensure the delivery of high-quality proteins that support the progression of new therapeutic candidates.
Your new role
As a Principal Scientist in Purification Research, you will take a leading role in delivering purified recombinant proteins and peptides for early research projects, with a particular focus on challenging tool proteins such as membrane proteins.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring delivery of purified proteins and peptides using advanced chromatography systems, filtration technologies and analytical tools
- Driving the development and optimization of efficient purification methods for tool protein deliveries
- Leading scientific discussions, prioritization of deliveries, and alignment across project teams and the tool protein task force
- Securing high scientific quality, while identifying and implementing new technologies and innovative approaches
- Providing guidance and support to technicians and scientists, while fostering collaboration within and outside the department
You will work closely with stakeholders across the research organization to ensure alignment and efficient progression of research projects.
Your new department
Purification Research consists of two departments (Purification Research 1 and 2) with around 24 highly engaged scientists and laboratory technicians. The department is part of Peptide & Protein Research in Therapeutics Discovery. The department supports early research by delivering purified proteins and peptides from recombinant expression. We work with a combination of platform-based automated purification and customized solutions, contributing to lead molecule selection and preparing processes for transfer to CMC.
Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in protein purification within pharmaceutical research. You bring:
- A PhD in protein biochemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, bioprocess engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience with purification of challenging proteins, including membrane proteins (e.g. GPCRs, transporters or ion channels)
- Proven ability to drive scientific innovation, continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience with automated purification workflows is an advantage
- Experience with digitalization and automated data handling (advantageous)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead, influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600.00 to 1,091,600.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
