You are a laboratory technician with pharmacology experience from working with rodents. You have a flair for and a keen interest in data – from collection over storage to handling and QC. Additionally, you demonstrate fluency in both written and spoken English. It is an advantage if you have experience with electronic registration of animals, samples, barcoding etc. You are skilled when it comes to planning and performing in vivo studies. It is essential that you like to work in teams – the experimental work we do often require many people and we have a highly collaborative environment, where you are expected to pitch in and assist others when needed. We are passionate about what we do, and we expect you to be as well.
About the department
Integrated Physiology Research is an area encompassing all in vivo pharmacology departments in the cardiometabolic space in the research part of Novo Nordisk. As part of Novo Nordisk’s strategy within cardiometabolic diseases, this area is focused on target identification, validation, and deep pre-clinical characterisation of novel treatment options for obesity, diabetes, liver disease, cardiovascular disease, and renal disease. In close collaboration with our in vitro colleagues, we strive to identify and mature pharmaceutical approaches that will benefit patients living with serious chronic disease. We establish, validate, and use in vivo models in rodents (mice and rats) and large animals (e.g. pigs, dogs, and non-human primates) and perform pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and mode-of-action studies to characterize potential new drug candidates. The 3R values are core to our work and are the ethical guiding principles for our research and testing involving animals. Experimental work is carried out by technical staff and scientists as well as outsourced as contract research.
