About the department

The department Stem Cell Analytics and Formulation has been recently established and is part of Novo Nordisk’s Stem Cell R&D unit, where we develop novel cell replacement therapies for the treatment of serious chronic diseases. Our department focuses on the development of Analytical methods and characterization of Stem Cell Drug Products. We assure the control of manufacturing processes across the entire pluripotent stem cell workflow. Diabetes mellitus type 1, Parkinson’s disease and chronic heart failure are only some of the indications currently in the pipeline.


You will join an international and dedicated Stem Cell CMC division of ~50 employees, including scientists, project leaders, laboratory technicians and student workers. We have expertise in analytical development, bioprocess development, stem cell biology and GMP compliance and truly believe that stem cell therapies will make a difference in the lives of patients. The position

We are looking for a laboratory technician to support the department with the analysis of stem cell products. Your main responsibility will be to perform routine testing of different stem cell development batches using flow cytometry, cell counters, qPCR and other (biological) assays. In close collaboration with scientists you will develop and qualify analytical methods and prepare them for transfer into GMP environments. You will independently perform laboratory work, analyse and compile data and contribute to general lab maintenance activities.




You completed vocational training (e.g. lab technician, lab assistant, MTA or BTA) or hold a similar technical certificate and have experience in the following areas:

Several years hands-on experience in flow cytometry, cell cultivation and molecular biology techniques including DNA and RNA isolation.

Experience in working in a biological laboratory environment including maintaining, ordering, and organizing laboratory supplies and ensuring maintenance of equipment.

Experience in maintaining organized and detailed up-to-date electronic lab notebook records.

Work experience within the biotech or pharma industry would be a plus.

Proficiency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken.
