Your New Role

As a Laboratory Technician within Protein Engineering, you will contribute to the discovery and development of recombinant protein therapeutics by supporting core laboratory activities across protein expression workflows. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly collaborative research environment where scientific excellence, innovation, and teamwork drive progress.

In this role, you will:

  • Cultivate mammalian suspension cell lines used for recombinant protein production and optimisation.
  • Perform transient protein expression activities, including DNA preparation, transfection processes, and protein harvesting.
  • Analyse protein samples using a variety of laboratory techniques, including SDS-PAGE and Bio-Layer Interferometry.
  • Support the efficient execution and continuous improvement of protein expression workflows, ensuring high-quality and reproducible results.
  • Collaborate closely with scientists and fellow laboratory technicians while maintaining accurate documentation through electronic laboratory notebooks and other digital systems.

You will be part of a dynamic scientific environment where your technical expertise and attention to detail will directly support the advancement of Novo Nordisk’s early research portfolio.

You will join Protein Engineering, a department within Protein Research, where we focus on discovering and engineering recombinant biotherapeutics and enabling protein technologies across Novo Nordisk’s research portfolio. As part of Protein and Peptide Research within Therapeutics Discovery, we combine diverse scientific expertise to advance innovative protein- and peptide-based therapies. Your Skills and Qualifications

To thrive in this position, we expect that you bring a strong technical foundation, a passion for laboratory work, and a collaborative mindset.

We imagine that you:

  • Hold a Laboratory Technician qualification or an equivalent scientific education.
  • Have practical experience working with mammalian suspension cell culture, transient protein expression, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Are familiar with automated liquid handling systems, ideally including BIOMEK platforms.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and experience working with electronic laboratory documentation systems.
  • Enjoy learning new technologies and approaches while contributing actively to a collaborative research environment.

You communicate effectively, embrace new challenges, and remain adaptable when priorities evolve. Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 437,600.00 to 643,200.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level,  location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
