The position
As part of the Health & Safety Partner team in R&ED, you will advise the R&ED organization on all safety and health related matters. Together with a network of Health & Safety representatives across R&ED, you will take the initiative in coordinating and ensuring safety in all aspects of the project activities ongoing at any given point in time. You will act as a trusted advisor to the R&ED management and Health & Safety representatives and thus engage with a wide range of stakeholders across our different sites. As part of the team, you will be a pivotal part of the Health & Safety management processes within R&ED.
As part of the H&S team, your main responsibilities will include:
- Taking a proactive role in ensuring the health and safety of all employees across laboratories, offices and common areas, implementing quality procedures and working according to Novo Nordisk Health and Safety management systems
- Coordinating the efforts into ensuring the safety of machines, robots, chemicals, biological material, and ergonomics in collaboration with the respective Health & Safety representatives
- Support on reporting of incidents, including identifying their root causes and implementing changes to prevent them from happening again
- Preparation of all relevant material and briefing documentation and the collaborative facilitation of the Health & Safety Management Reviews across the R&ED EVP area.
- Coordinating the network of Health & Safety representatives from various departments across R&ED and proactively linking the R&ED Health & Safety community with the global Novo Nordisk Health & Safety functions
- Driving and designing of training, coaching, and providing mental health workshops to support and further develop the R&ED Health & Safety Representatives
- Close collaboration with local and global Health & Safety corporate partners from CMC, PSQIT, and CFa
Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you have:

An academic degree within life science, biology, or chemistry paired with 5+ years of work experience in a laboratory environment
- A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in Health & Safety management preferably from the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry or similar regulated industry
- Solid knowledge of the Health & Safety legislation and procedures in Denmark – additional knowledge of Health & Safety legislation & procedures in the UK or US is of advantage
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, with a keen ability to communicate effectively in a diverse stakeholder landscape, including leadership circles.
- Preferably active project and indirect people management experience
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
On a personal level, you are self-driven, dedicated, and proactive with great communication, presentation and relationship building skills. You are a go-to person and have ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
About the department
The R&D DK Operations team supports our Danish R&ED sites by managing and improving daily operations within our working space. The team covers H&S, Space Management and Improvement, and Laboratory Operations creating a strong internal collaboration mentality where we lift and move our area beyond what we could achieve in isolation. Within Health & Safety, we are extensively collaborating with our partners from CMC, PSQIT, and CFa on site to install harmonized solutions across the large campus. The R&ED Health and Safety partners are reaching further into the global R&ED sites supporting and guiding our local H&S specialists and Health and Safety representatives (AMRs) - including our global research locations.
