The Position

We are expanding our manufacturing capacity to meet greater demand and a more diverse product and technology mix, and ensuring sustainable solutions is more important than ever. In this role, you will contribute to reducing the environmental footprint of our production activities and support the achievement of our ambitious environmental targets while ensuring compliance with external requirements. You will play a key role in integrating sustainability principles into the design, execution, and evaluation of expansion projects in a systematic and structured way. You will:

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to define and embed sustainability considerations (energy, water, waste, nature/biodiversity) into greenfield/brownfield expansion projects, from initial design to post-construction evaluation.

  • Stay abreast of developing environmental regulations as EU Taxonomy, industry standards, best practices, and ESG reporting requirements to ensure compliant, sustainable expansions.

  • Develop and implement sustainability metrics to track the environmental impact of expansion projects and provide regular reporting to assess impact and progress to target.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders and industry partners to ensure alignment with sustainable development goals and translate these and strategic ambitions for key project stakeholders.

  • Establish Novo Nordisk standards for best practice for sustainable expansion projects, incorporating industry-leading approaches and innovative techniques.

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant specialist experience - proven experience in sustainability management.

  • Ideally experience with a focus on expansion projects within construction or real estate industry and experience in project management.

  • Familiarity with sustainable building certifications such as DGNB, LEED, or equivalent standards is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability reporting requirements, ideally including knowledge of CSRD and EU taxonomy.

 

Personally, you need to have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and prioritize your work while collaborating with colleagues. You need to be highly motivated, energetic, and willing to take the initiative. Your passion for sustainability and a demonstrated commitment to advancing environmentally responsible practices will be important to succeed. Fluency in English and Danish, both written and spoken are required for this role.
