About the department
You will join the Global Discovery & Development Sciences in the Novo Nordisk R&D organisation. The position will be associated to the department of Development ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion) which is responsible for the investigation and evaluation of drug metabolism and drug-drug interactions for all Novo Nordisk compounds in drug development.
 
The position
Have you ever wondered how drug molecules are degraded (metabolised) within the human body? This internship opportunity gives you a unique insight into the world of drug metabolism.

 

 

You will conduct in vitro incubations with recombinant peptidase enzymes and/or biological matrices (e.g. hepatocytes, kidney cells), and subsequently conduct Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis, to identify which peptide degradation products that has been formed.
 
•Internship period: 6 months
•Working hours: 37 hours a week
•Start date: 1 February 2020 (flexible)
•Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
•A Danish full-time work permit is required

 


Qualifications
We are looking for an intern with a passion for analytical chemistry. You are currently studying for your master’s degree in chemistry, pharmacy or another relevant field. We prefer if you already have general knowledge about working in laboratories and key methodologies related to analytical chemistry (liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, literature search, etc..).

 


We expect you to master English, verbally as well as in writing, that you can work independently (with supervision) and the sound personal judgment to make wise decisions.
 
As a person, you are outgoing with a strong personal drive and dedication. Your strong interpersonal skills assist you in creating trustful relations across professions and geography, and you bring a healthy sense of humor to your work even when the pressure is on.
