Your new role

As Director, EA & Head of Executive Office, you will play a pivotal role in partnering with leadership teams across the GVP area called ADI, anchored in the Research & Development organisation. The role leads the Executive Office, drives key leadership processes, and enables the GVP’s priorities through structured planning, strong communication, and seamless coordination.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Act as a trusted partner to the GVP, ensuring effective prioritisation, preparation, and follow‑through on strategic and operational matters.
  • Lead and develop the Executive Office team, securing high‑quality administrative and project support across ADI.
  • Drive the planning and execution of ADI Leadership Team meetings, governance processes, agendas, and follow‑up actions.
  • Coordinate and prepare high‑quality materials for internal and external meetings, dialogues, and strategic forums in close collaboration with Communications.
  • Oversee organisational and resource management processes, including FTE planning, budget coordination, and business performance inputs.
  • Ensure strong stakeholder alignment across HR, Finance, PAs/EAs, and senior leaders, enabling smooth information flow and execution of key priorities.

 

This position is a parental leave cover, with the assignment expected to continue through the end of the year.

 

Your new department

You will be joining AI & Digital Innovation (ADI), whose core mission is to accelerate development, improve precision, and strengthen R&D by embedding AI, digital science, and data at the heart of drug discovery and development. ADI drives digital innovation and computational methods that speed up the pipeline and elevate scientific decision‑making. By leveraging advanced data and AI capabilities, the area aims to quickly identify drug candidates, reduce development time and costs, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. As part of ADI, you will join a collaborative environment that prioritises accessible, well‑governed data and fosters a workplace where people can grow, contribute meaningfully, and shape the future of R&D.

 

Your skills and qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. business, finance, technology) with a robust business acumen.
  • In-depth experience and understanding of Research & Development and/or Technology in a large pharmaceutical company.
  • Solid direct or indirect leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • The capacity to lead by example and possess informal leadership experience.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

You excel in dynamic environments with shifting priorities. You demonstrate a keen sense of diplomacy while maintaining assertiveness and fostering team spirit.
