Can you see yourself being part of building a new department in Research & Early Development IT (R&ED IT) at Novo Nordisk? You will contribute to defining new ways of working with IT in the laboratories by rethinking digitalization and automatization into working smarter and with data.
About the department
The R&ED IT Lab Solutions team is a new team within R&ED IT anchored in Digital, Data & IT (DD&IT). The department consists of 10 people divided between Business Analysts, an IT Policy Manager, an IT Service Manager, an IT Security Manager, and onsite IT supporters that assist the research laboratories globally with their day2day IT challenges on their +1000 Lab IT systems. R&ED IT is together with R&ED driving an aspirational digital and automation agenda that will require new IT solutions and services enabling R&ED to reach their ambitious goals of new discoveries.
The department has a close link to all research sites but is anchored at the Måløv site in Denmark. The R&ED IT Lab Solutions team supports the scientists and technicians and their research all over the world, offering opportunities to visit other sites, e.g., Beijing, Oxford, Seattle, and Fremont.
As this is a new department, there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your skills along the journey. Furthermore, partaking in shaping the future of the R&ED IT Lab Solutions department will be very rich.
About the position
You will be an important part of a key agenda in Novo Nordisk: Digitalization and Automatization. By networking across the laboratories, you will find and share best practices on how to optimize their processes.
You will together with your fellow business analysts in the team be a sparring partner for the laboratories and bridge them with Digital, Data & IT (DD&IT) to find new solutions on how to automate and digitalize their processes.
As a Business Analyst, you will spend most of your time on-site and when it is needed: travel to one of the other research sites in the world to see, understand and solve their challenges. An important aspect of this position is close collaboration with the lab scientists and technicians and how you and the team can support that they focus more time on research and spend less on IT. Therefore, it is vital that you share a natural interest and curiosity in the exciting research processes ongoing in the laboratories.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Analyze tools and solutions for the laboratories securing optimal IT operations of their lab IT systems among all research sites
- Automate onboarding of new systems
- Act as the sparring partner for the automation and digitalization in the laboratories and drive the implementation of these new solutions
- Bridge solutions from DD&IT that can benefit the research laboratories so they can focus on doing research and not IT
Qualifications
You are a good communicator across functions, levels, and cultures. You can listen as well as understand the IT and business complexities and are able to translate these into opportunities.
You are proactive, curious, and want to ensure the best solutions. You must be able to bridge your science and IT skills with Novo Nordisk’s business requirements to identify and solve their challenges. You are also able to design standardized and integrated IT solutions.
You will be given the opportunity to develop and improve your skills in both complex IT systems and windows environments and be close to our research organization at the same time. Learning by doing is very much the way to succeed in this position. A neutral interest and experience in the field is key, as it is your dedication that ensures your success in this role.
It is required of you to have:
- A degree at minimum BA level of science in a relevant field (e.g., Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Life-Science, or Pharmacy
- Experience working in a lab setting, either through studies or work.
- A natural interest in IT and IT savviness and the will to implement and drive IT solutions, as well as a desire to travel and expand your network and capabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with people across the organization, ability to instill confidence and implement innovative solutions
- An analytical and service-minded mindset
- Excellent communication skills in English, written and orally
