Are you passionate about driving strategic initiatives in a highly innovative scientific environment? Do you thrive when navigating complexity, building strong stakeholder relationships, and turning ideas into tangible outcomes? Then this could be your opportunity to join Therapeutics Discovery and help shape the future of drug discovery at Novo Nordisk.
Your new role
As Associate Project Director in the Therapeutics Discovery Executive Office, you will lead high-impact strategic projects that support the leadership agenda across Therapeutics Discovery (TD) and broader Research & Development (R&D). You will work closely with senior leaders and scientific stakeholders, planning, executing and implementing large, complex and cross-functional projects with significant business impact.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project professional who enjoys working independently, managing diverse stakeholder groups, and leading initiatives in a dynamic environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive planning, execution, and implementation of large, complex and cross-functional strategic projects across TD and R&D
- Ensure pro-active stakeholder management and communication at multiple organisational levels within and outside of TD
- Develop presentation material and memos to support presentations by senior leaders to R&D Leadership Team, Executive Management, and the Novo Nordisk Board of Directors
Success in this role will depend on your ability to build relationships across the organisation, independently drive initiatives forward, and deliver high-quality outcomes while navigating a complex stakeholder landscape.
Your new department
You will join the Therapeutics Discovery Executive Office, a small team that supports strategic execution and organisational development across Therapeutics Discovery in Research & Development.
Our mission in TD is to build and progress a pipeline of competitive novel therapeutics ensuring scientific excellence and operational efficiency in drug discovery, from idea conception to lead candidate selection, with focus on leading core modality and formulation innovation, application, and impact.
Our aim is to accelerate drug innovation, streamline project execution, and enhance overall productivity and time to decision across the research portfolio.
Your skills & qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine that you bring both strong project management skills and the ability to connect with stakeholders across a scientific organisation.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- A master's degree within a scientific, engineering, business, or related field
- Significant experience (6+ years) leading complex cross-functional projects, ideally from consulting or project management in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similar environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to build trust across organisational levels
- Scientific curiosity and sufficient understanding to collaborate effectively with scientific experts
- A pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset focused on delivering results
