Join Novo Nordisk and lead a critical immunogenicity assessment department that plays a pivotal role in evaluating the safety of innovative medicines. This is a co-leadership role where you have joint responsibility for the Immunogenicity Assessment area. You will combine strategic and people leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and scientific expertise to help bring life-changing treatments to patients worldwide.

Your new role
As Associate Director, you will work in a close co-leadership with an experienced existing leader. Your own department consists of 17 scientists and technicians, while the area has a total of 38 employees. The area is responsible for driving the immunogenicity strategy across the project portfolio, including the design, execution, interpretation, and reporting of state-of-the-art immunogenicity studies conducted both in-house and through external CRO partnerships. You will ensure fit-for-purpose immunogenicity assessments that support safety evaluations, from early non-clinical development through clinical development and product lifecycle management.

Beyond leading the department, you will facilitate shaping of the scientific strategy, drive cross-functional collaboration, and ensure delivery of high-quality data and regulatory documentation that support drug development and registration milestones.

Your key responsibility

• Co-lead a high-performing area characterized by a high level of accountability, empowerment, and scientific expertise
• Coach and develop a team of scientists and technicians, fostering a culture of psychological safety, scientific excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement to deliver high-quality immunogenicity work in compliance with GLP/GCP standards
• Ensure timely and strategically value-driven delivery of high-quality immunogenicity data, and regulatory documentation supporting clinical trial applications and global market registrations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Research, and CMC
• Contribute actively to the NCAS leadership team through strategic initiatives, resource allocation, budget management, and organisational development.
• Represent Novo Nordisk externally through scientific collaborations, industry forums, conferences, and interactions with health authorities

Your new department
The Immunogenicity Assessment department is part of Non-clinical and Clinical Assay Sciences (NCAS) within Research and Development at Novo Nordisk. NCAS delivers non-clinical and clinical bioanalysis, including biomarker and immunogenicity assessments, supporting projects across the entire Novo Nordisk portfolio.

NCAS consists of eight departments organised in a collaborative co-leadership structure, where leaders work closely together to achieve shared goals and ensure strong scientific and organisational outcomes. In this role, you will work in very close partnership with the other leader of Immunogenicity Assessment

The department is responsible for assessing the immunogenic potential of Novo Nordisk compounds and generating critical scientific evidence that informs project decisions, safety evaluations, and regulatory submissions throughout the product lifecycle.

• A proactive, resilient, risk-willing, and results-oriented mindset, thriving in a dynamic and evolving environment.
• Experience with bioanalysis and/or immunogenicity assessments, combined with a strong understanding of relevant regulatory expectations and GxP principles would be a plus
• Background within immunology, biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or another relevant life science discipline. PhD preferred.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000 to 1,245,100 DKK (DK), corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
