Are you passionate about shaping digital lab products that enable cutting‑edge research and real business impact? As Associate Director, you will contribute to setting the strategic direction for the Digital Labs area in R&D and lead talented Product Managers and Product Specialists and drive scalable digital solutions that support Novo Nordisk’s focus of creating lasting change across research laboratories.
Your new role
As Associate Director, Digital Labs, you are accountable for defining the product vision, strategy and priorities together with Products Owners and the Senior Director for Digital Labs Products and for enabling strong product outcomes through leadership, governance and data‑driven decision‑making. You will lead a small team of Product Managers and Product Specialists. You will handle contractors, support with business cases e.g. regarding digitalisation of laboratories and help the team with prioritisation across a complex and global stakeholder environment.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Coaching and developing a team of Product Managers and Product Specialists, fostering performance, engagement and capability growth
- Setting a clear product‑area vision and strategy aligned with business priorities, budgets and long‑term value creation together with Products Owners, the Senior Director for Digital Labs Products and Line of Business
- Together with the Senior Director, contribute to product discovery and delivery to translate complex scientific and business workflows into scalable digital lab solutions
- Acting as the critical link between scientific business units and the Digital Labs team
- Managing product‑area budgets, investments and resource allocation in close collaboration with stakeholders and finance
You will report directly to the Senior Director of Digital Lab Products, who is based in Lexington US. The role therefore requires flexibility working across time zones.
Your new department
You will join a Digital Labs Product organisation within AI & Digital Innovation in R&D that works closely with scientific business units to deliver digital systems that drive innovation and efficiency across research laboratories in Denmark, UK, China and US. The role sits at the intersection of science, business and technology and involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders, scientists, technical leaders and product governance forums across the organisation.
In Research & Development, you will be part of a unit that explores bold scientific ideas and advances them into clinical testing. We combine curiosity, AI tools, and human data to develop transformative therapies. Through collaboration and operational excellence, we shape and deliver an innovative pipeline to meet future patient needs.
Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for a senior digital product leader with strong strategic, people and stakeholder capabilities.
You bring:
- An educational background in IT, research, engineering, or a related field
- Extensive experience (8+ years) delivering digital product solutions, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotech or other regulated environments
- Proven leadership experience, either direct leadership or managing project teams across complex organisations
- Strong expertise in product management frameworks, agile delivery and data‑driven prioritisation
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
