Måløv, Capital Region of Denmark, DK
Are you passionate about stem cell biology and process development?
Do you want to help transform cutting-edge stem cell science into scalable solutions that can accelerate drug discovery and improve the lives of patients? Join the GEM CELL Hub at Novo Nordisk and play a key role in developing and manufacturing human stem cell-derived cell types that support research across the organization.
The Position
As an Advanced Laboratory Technician, you will contribute to the development, optimization, and scale-up of human pluripotent stem cell manufacturing processes. Combining hands-on laboratory work with process development, you will help establish robust and reproducible workflows that enable the delivery of high-quality cell products to research teams across Novo Nordisk.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Maintain, expand, differentiate, and cryopreserve human pluripotent stem cell lines using both adherent and suspension culture systems.
-
Operate and optimize bioreactor-based cell culture processes to support scalable stem cell manufacturing.
-
Transfer and adapt cell culture and differentiation protocols into robust, reproducible production workflows.
-
Perform cell characterization and quality control analyses, including flow cytometry, qPCR, immunostaining, and viability assessments.
-
Collaborate with scientists and specialists to monitor process performance, troubleshoot challenges, and drive continuous improvement of stem cell-derived products.
You will join the Genome Engineering & Manufacturing of Stem Cell-Derived Cell Types (GEM CELL) Hub within Research & Early Development. The team develops and manufactures human stem cell-derived cell types used for target discovery, disease modelling, assay development, and drug discovery across Novo Nordisk.
Working in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, you will partner closely with scientists, bioprocess experts, and laboratory technicians to advance innovative stem cell technologies and help establish next-generation manufacturing platforms.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have:
-
An education as a Laboratory Technician (Laborant), Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (Bioanalytiker), or a related BSc-level qualification.
-
Several years of hands-on laboratory experience, ideally within stem cell biology, biotechnology, or biopharmaceutical development.
-
Strong experience working with human pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation.
-
Experience with analytical and characterization methods as well as scientific documentation and data handling.
-
A structured approach to your work and strong attention to detail.
-
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
It would be considered an advantage if you have:
-
Experience with suspension culture systems and stirred-tank bioreactors.
