(Senior) Analytical Research Scientist
Måløv, Capital Region of Denmark, DK
Novo Nordisk is committed to pushing the boundaries for oral delivery of biologics. Building on our success in developing the world’s first GLP-1 peptide in a tablet, we are growing our activities in our relentless pursuit of the next generation of oral-based therapies. A cornerstone of this is an expansion of our efforts in formulation sciences.
Your new role
As Analytical Research Scientist you will join the department Oral Delivery Technologies, a vibrant and science-focused team of scientists and technicians, where innovation is at the core. Your main objective will be to analyse proteins and peptides in oral solid dosage forms i.e., content uniformity test, relevant sample preparation methods, dissolution test, solubility tests, design and conduct stability studies. Another important task is to plan and develop innovative analytical solutions to test key hypotheses in collaboration with colleagues. You will actively engage with colleagues to exchange information relevant for your work, trouble shoot lab work, prioritise and coordinate analytical activities to meet our deadlines.
Furthermore, as an analytical scientist, you will:
- Participate in projects progression, contribute with analytical expertise, give input to project plans, present data, handle scientific challenges and discuss results and issues
- Design and execute laboratory experiments
- Collect and report results with high accuracy and quality
- Contribute to constantly improving methods, techniques and approaches
- Interact with a variety of stakeholders and ensure great cross-functional collaboration.
- Work alongside talented colleagues, sharing ideas and inspiration across different scientific specialisations.
Working in Oral Delivery Technologies is a mutually rewarding commitment and it provides you with scientific and personal development.
Your new department
We are both focused on driving oral formulation activities in research projects as well as driving early-stage innovation with oral delivery of biologics. You will be based in Måløv, greater Copenhagen, Denmark, co-located with colleagues representing the full research value chain for peptides and proteins. It’s ground-breaking work with the promise of improving the lives of millions of people with chronic conditions. If you want to make a difference, join us to do pioneering research that can impact people everywhere.
Your skills and qualifications
To succeed in this role:
- You hold a relevant PhD degree or master degree with 3-5 years of experience specialised in analytical sciences.
- Experience in developing analytical approaches to analyse drug delivery relevant properties and hereby inform and guide design of drug delivery systems would be a plus.
Furthermore, the following skills are considered highly relevant:
- Experience with analytical work in a pharmaceutical setting
- Team player and ability to work independently, prioritize and coordinate own and colleagues’ work.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of analytical techniques relevant for oral drug delivery systems
- Track record of analytical research work within the field of peptides and proteins embedded in drug delivery systems or solid dosage forms (tables or capsules)
You thrive in a changing and dynamic work environment and have a can-do attitude with the ability to execute a plan and keep deadlines. You display excellent collaboration and communication skills. You are a good team player, who consistently engages in constructive collaborations and values collaboration and knowledge sharing. Your passion for science and ability to impact and progress projects inspires those around you.
In exchange we offer an opportunity for you to make a difference to patients with oral drug offerings.
