Senior UX/UI Designer

Lyngby, Denmark, Onsite

Process Simulation & Analytics

Are you our next Senior UX/UI Designer within the digital and manufacturing space? Can you turn user insights into intuitive, business‑viable and technically feasible digital solutions that help managers, process supporters, and operators in aseptic manufacturing? Join our Process Simulation & Analytics team to lead UX, UI, and product design for tools that optimise aseptic manufacturing processes (filling, inspection, wash & sterilization, environmental monitoring).

Our team develops a modular data‑analytics platform made up of complementary tools that solve concrete shop‑floor challenges. Examples include a statistical process‑monitoring system for wash & sterilization, a cross‑site inspection performance dashboard used by process managers, and our newest product — a tablet‑based shop‑floor assistant that coordinates complex, time‑sensitive tasks across teams and shifts, enforcing dependencies and simulating optimal staffing and task sequences. You will design how managers, operators, and process supporters interact with these products, turn research insights into implementable features, and influence projects that reduce downtime, optimize processes, and strengthen cross‑team coordination across multiple sites.

This is a full‑time role based in Lyngby with regular, occasional visits to our Danish sites (primarily Gentofte and Hillerød) in order to run workshops, conduct on‑floor research and build relations with stakeholders.

Your new role

As a Senior UX/UI Designer you will be accountable for UX research, product design and UI design:

  • Lead end to end design: user research, ideation, prototyping and visual & interaction design using our Design System.
  • Discovering and validating high‑value problems, mapping processes and defining features.
  • Translate user insights into scoped product concepts, feature sets and clear developer requirements.
  • Deliver high fidelity visual and interaction designs in Figma that are production ready and consistent with our Design System, including component specifications, states, and accessibility considerations.
  • Create clear developer handoffs (annotated screens, acceptance criteria, and interaction specs) so engineers can implement UI behaviour reliably across tablet and web interfaces.
  • Run field research and workshops with operators, skilled workers, technicians, process engineers and managers to capture real needs and validate solutions.
  • Map user flows and process interdependencies so solutions respect upstream/downstream constraints.
  • Design analytics and dashboard experiences
  • Work closely with product managers, software engineers, chemical/mechanical/process engineers, and data engineers in cross functional teams.
  • Communicate clearly and adapt your style to different audiences — from shop-floor operators to senior leadership — making trade-offs and reasoning visible.
  • Advocate for user-centred decisions using data, prototypes and clear recommendations
  • Iterate quickly and incorporate constructive feedback to drive adoption.

Your new department

Our team is in Novo Nordisk Aseptic Manufacturing Engineering, under Process Excellence department. Our department focuses on creating the processes for the future in aseptic manufacturing. In our team Process Simulation & Analytics, we focus on optimizing the core and support processes in aseptic manufacturing (e.g. Filling, Inspection, Wash & Sterilization, Environmental Monitoring) through simulation and analytics tools. Our chemical/mechanical engineers map our aseptic processes together with line of business to understand the status quo and run simulations that optimize our manufacturing processes. Our software engineers develop custom built web applications that deliver analytics and insights on our manufacturing processes. The team competences also come together to develop a web application that combines insights and process simulation in a single platform that assists in coordinating the tasks and the people on our manufacturing shopfloor. By working in cross-functional teams, we create digital products that not only meet business needs but also improve the everyday lives of users and ultimately deliver more products to our patients.

Your skills and qualifications

Strict must-haves:

  • 6+ years of hands on experience in UX/UI, product design, and user research delivering digital products.
  • Proven track record running user research with operational or industrial users (field interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing).
  • Strong interaction and visual design skills; high fidelity prototyping experience in Figma.
  • Fluency in Danish and English (spoken and written).

We also expect you have most of these qualifications:

  • Comfortable working in a feedback culture and able to accept, give, and iterate on constructive critique.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and written/verbal communication skills — able to explain design decisions clearly and succinctly to engineers, operators and management.
  • Experience running workshops and mapping complex processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of user research methods (persona development, journey mapping, usability testing, metrics & data analysis).
  • Experience in industrial/manufacturing environments or regulated industries (pharma, medical devices, GMP).
  • Interest in software development.
  • Experience with design systems, component libraries and developer handoff tools (Storybook, design tokens, Figma libraries).
  • Experience working in agile/scrum and using AzureDevops
  • Prior experience designing for tablet/shop floor interfaces
