Senior Manager
Aseptic Manufacturing Support
Lyngby, Denmark, Onsite
Lead and develop a team of experienced professionals supporting aseptic manufacturing sites globally, and help strengthen how we solve complex operational and compliance-related challenges across the organisation.
Your new role
As Senior Manager in AM Site Support, you will lead a team of approximately seven professionals supporting aseptic manufacturing sites across Novo Nordisk.
Your primary responsibility will be to create the conditions for your team to perform at a high level. You will set direction, prioritise work, develop people, strengthen collaboration, and support the team in navigating complex operational and stakeholder situations.
The team operates in an environment where priorities can change quickly. At times, support is needed at short notice in connection with inspections, production challenges, compliance-related issues, or other critical site needs. At the same time, the team contributes to longer-term activities and improvement initiatives.
You will therefore need to balance daily operational priorities with people development and longer-term capability building.
You are not expected to be the deepest technical expert in the room or solve the team’s tasks yourself. However, you need enough understanding of aseptic manufacturing and GMP-regulated production to understand the complexity of the issues, ask the right questions, challenge constructively, and guide your team and stakeholders towards sound decisions.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Leading, developing, and coaching a team of experienced professionals
- Creating clear priorities and ensuring alignment between team activities and departmental objectives
- Strengthening team collaboration, engagement, feedback culture, transparency, and accountability
- Supporting individual development, performance management, talent development, and career progression
- Acting as first escalation point for complex operational, stakeholder, and compliance-related matters
- Helping team members navigate complex issues without taking over their responsibilities
- Ensuring effective resource prioritisation across changing operational demands
- Representing the team in cross-functional forums, steering groups, inspections, and other relevant decision-making settings
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders across Manufacturing, Quality, MS&T, Regulatory Affairs, Development, and other parts of the organisation
- Driving continuous improvement, standardisation, problem solving, and effective ways of working
- Contributing to change initiatives and organisational development within the area
- Stepping in for the Department Manager or peer managers when relevant
Your new department
In Global Manufacturing & Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues worldwide, dedicated to supplying life-changing medicines to the patients who depend on them.
Within GMS, you will join AM Site Support, where we support aseptic manufacturing sites with complex operational, technical, and compliance-related challenges.
The team works across a broad internal stakeholder landscape and is often involved when issues require coordination across functions, sites, or areas of expertise. This can include support related to inspections, production challenges, compliance matters, improvement initiatives, and cross-functional decision-making.
You will lead a team that has been through organisational change and is now entering its next phase of development. A key part of your role will be to strengthen team cohesion, create clarity and transparency, and continue building a culture where people are supported, challenged, and accountable for delivering results.
The local management setup is lean and collaborative. You will work closely with the Department Manager and be part of a broader management community across MS&T, giving you both a high degree of responsibility and access to sparring across related areas.
Your skills and qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Have several years of documented people management experience leading professional employees in a complex technical, scientific, manufacturing, or regulated environment
- Have proven experience with performance management, employee development, feedback, talent development, and building team effectiveness
- Have relevant experience from pharmaceutical manufacturing, aseptic production, MS&T, Quality, Production Support, or another closely related GMP-regulated environment
- Have a solid understanding of aseptic manufacturing and be able to understand how production processes, quality, compliance, and business priorities connect
- Have experience navigating a complex matrix organisation and working effectively with senior stakeholders across functions
- Be able to translate broader departmental priorities into clear operational direction, priorities, and expectations for a team
- Have experience handling complex operational or compliance-related issues where sound judgement, stakeholder alignment, and timely decision-making are required
- Communicate fluently and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing
In addition, it will be an advantage if you:
- Have experience from direct support to aseptic manufacturing sites
- Have worked with inspections, regulatory authorities, or complex quality and compliance matters
- Have experience with systematic problem solving, LEAN, or continuous improvement
- Have experience from a global organisation and working across sites, countries, or functions
- Hold a Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent qualification within Engineering, Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or another relevant discipline
As a leader, you are expected to create direction, accountability, and development through others. You should be comfortable leading experienced professionals without needing to be the strongest technical expert in every discussion. At the same time, you must have sufficient technical credibility to ask the right questions, understand complexity, challenge assumptions, and represent the team in demanding stakeholder settings.
