The Position
As the Director of Estimating, Cost and Risk Management at Novo Nordisk, you will:

  • Develop the best-in-class processes, procedures and framework for highly effective capital cost and risk management which will be standardized and consistent across the Fill & Finish Expansion programme
  • Input to project execution strategies and the development of Project Controls Management Plans
  • Oversee the rollout and ongoing management and development of Novo Nordisk Cost and Risk Management system solutions 
  • Ensure robust capital cost estimates/budgets are developed, reviewed and benchmarked as part of a gated project execution process
  • Oversee management of the established budgets across the Fill & Finish Expansion programme, ensuring costs are controlled within the approved control framework
  • Continuously offer ideas and solutions for project and programme level cost optimization, and provide insight to project performance and independent advice to the FFEx programme leadership on any key issues, threats and opportunities.

Together with a team of skilled Risk Managers, you will identify, assess, and manage enterprise, programme and project level risks. It is expected that you provide regular cost performance and risk management reports to senior management and stakeholders. You will also participate in the project and programme level review process.

As part of your role, you will work closely with Project Controls Partners and site-based cost/risk teams providing ongoing functional support from project establishment through to project completion and financial closeout. Your task is to ensure that FFEx programme-wide outturn cost data is captured in a structured and consistent manner for future benchmarking purposes

In this position at Novo Nordisk, you will implement a Lessons Learned process related to Estimating, Cost and Risk Management. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to lead and further develop a team of cost and risk management professionals, fostering collaboration with other functional areas such as finance, scheduling, change control, engineering, procurement and project management.

 

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in capital cost estimating, cost management and risk management on large scale capex programmes
  • Experience of successfully operating in a capex investment programme/PMO office and environment 
  • Experience of executing mega-capex projects in the Life Sciences sector and working through all phases of the project life-cycle
  • Understanding of discipline inter-dependencies, in particular the integration of cost, schedule and risk 
  • Experience of working with a range of ERP, cost and risk management system solutions
  • A proven ability to lead a team of Project Controls professionals.

To be successful in this role, you have the ability to support and prioritise multiple concurrent projects. You are highly analytical with the ability to quickly identify negative trends and emerging critical issues, and you possess a strong commercial awareness.

As a person you are highly collaborative with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

This department is responsible for designing, planning, and building all major fill & finish expansion projects across PSQIT to serve the needs of millions of patients.
