We are strengthening our leadership capacity within Manufacturing Science & Transfers and creating a dedicated team within Environmental Monitoring or HVAC.

As Associate Director, your most important task will be to build a strong, high-performing team of approximately 10–11 experienced specialists. You will create clarity, trust and accountability while helping the team use its expertise effectively across our manufacturing network.

This is a people leadership role in a complex global environment, where your ability to lead specialists matters as much as your technical understanding.

What you’ll bring

Strong people leadership is essential for this role.

We are looking for someone who has already experienced the reality of leading people. Including team development, performance challenges, difficult conversations and the work required to turn individual experts into a strong team.

You bring:

• At least 5 years of relevant people leadership experience, ideally leading experienced professionals or specialists.
• A proven track record of developing teams and improving collaboration, performance and accountability.
• Experience handling performance management, employee development and challenging people situations.
• The ability to lead highly skilled specialists without needing to be the deepest technical expert yourself.
• A relevant academic background within natural science, engineering, pharmacy or another related scientific discipline.
• Experience from a complex pharmaceutical, manufacturing, engineering or scientific environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the judgement to navigate competing priorities and perspectives.
• Professional proficiency in English.

You are curious, willing to challenge and comfortable stepping into situations where the answer is not obvious. You understand when to push, when to compromise and when an issue needs to be escalated.

Useful, but not essential:

• Experience from aseptic manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Environmental Monitoring, HVAC or related pharmaceutical manufacturing areas.
• Experience working across sites, functions or countries in an international organisation.

Deep expertise within Environmental Monitoring or HVAC is not required. What matters is that you have the scientific foundation, curiosity and learning agility to understand the context and lead specialists with credibility.

What you’ll do

Your priority will be to create a stronger, more effective team.

You will:

• Lead, coach and develop approximately 10–11 specialists with different technical backgrounds, levels of experience and perspectives.
• Create clear expectations, priorities and accountability across the team.
• Build trust and strengthen collaboration so the team operates as one unit rather than as a collection of individual experts.
• Address performance, development and collaboration challenges directly and constructively.
• Help the team prioritise its expertise across complex manufacturing needs and competing requests.
• Support the team in developing scenarios, recommendations and technical input for decisions affecting manufacturing sites.
• Represent the team in cross-functional and cross-site discussions and help clarify trade-offs, risks and consequences.
• Contribute to the continued development of standards, frameworks and ways of working across Environmental Monitoring or HVAC.
• Create the leadership capacity needed for the team to become increasingly self-sufficient and effective over time.

Success in this role means creating a team that collaborates well, performs consistently and can bring strong technical recommendations into complex decisions across the organisation.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the Facility Process Competence Center within Manufacturing Science & Transfers.

Manufacturing Science & Transfers consists of approximately 130 colleagues responsible for manufacturing standards and subject matter expertise across Aseptic Manufacturing. The Facility Process Competence Center includes around 40 specialists working across areas such as clean utilities, wash and sterilisation, Environmental Monitoring and HVAC.

You will report to the Director of the Facility Process Competence Center and become part of the leadership team.

Your closest partners will include manufacturing sites, process owners, technical specialists and colleagues across Quality, Engineering, Aseptic Manufacturing and other relevant areas.

The role has broad organisational exposure. Environmental Monitoring and HVAC expertise also supports areas outside Aseptic Manufacturing when needed, which creates a varied stakeholder landscape and requires thoughtful prioritisation.

The role is expected to include approximately 20 travel days per year.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000.00 to 1,245,100.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge and relevant experience.
