Your new role
In this role, you will be a technical driver behind the design, development and operation of high‑quality data pipelines and platform components in a validated clinical environment. You will work with Azure, Databricks and modern DevOps/IaC practices to enable secure, governed and high‑performing data products for clinical, AI and exploratory use cases.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Building and operating robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure and Databricks, ensuring reliability, performance and compliance.
- Partnering with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to enable feature-ready datasets, safe GenAI integration and model‑ready data flows.
- Implementing DevOps and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices to ensure automated, consistent and validated deployments.
- Ensuring data quality, lineage, governance and GxP compliance across the full development lifecycle.
- Contributing to backend/API enablement and lightweight front‑end integration for data productisation.
Your new department
You will join the Clinical Data, Text and AI department—an area driving the scalable, compliant and innovative use of data across clinical development. We enable advanced analytics, GenAI solutions, and scientific insights by building the foundational data, platform and engineering capabilities required for modern clinical data science. You will collaborate closely with Clinical teams, QA, Privacy/Security, and AI/Advanced Analytics functions across Denmark, the UK and the US.
Your skills and qualifications
To be successful in this role, you bring a blend of technical depth, quality mindset and cross‑functional collaboration skills. You likely have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 4–8 years of experience in data engineering, with strong expertise in Azure, Databricks, PySpark/SparkSQL, Delta Lake and cloud-native architectures.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Terraform/Pulumi, and secure cloud resource management.
- Knowledge of data quality automation, metadata management, lineage tools and best practices for operating in regulated (GxP) environments.
- Experience collaborating with Data Scientists/ML Engineers and familiarity with MLOps tooling (e.g., MLflow).
- Experience with backend/API development, containerisation and/or front-end integrations (REST/GraphQL, Python, Docker, React/TypeScript) is considered an advantage.
You are detail-oriented, proactive, and able to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders, balancing innovation with structure, safety and compliance.
