The Position

 

In this role the selected candidate will lead NNPT Medical Affairs strategy within Diabetes type 1 and type 2 portfolio and pipeline, covering NN Insulins, GLP-1ra and smart insulin pens. The candidate will also collaborate in the medical affairs strategy for obesity and CV disease, provide medical guidance to the Brand Teams, partner with Market Access to accelerate patient’s access to NNPT innovative medicines and establish trust-based and partnership-oriented relations with leading Diabetes and Obesity Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Scientific Societies.

 

Among your responsibilities will be:

 

  • Owner of the Diabetes Medical Affairs Plan and respective budget, and accountable for its full implementation.
  • Ensuring medical input to brand strategy and national business planning activities – attend and contributing to Diabetes Brand Team meetings.
  • Planning and delivering key Portuguese medical projects that have a significant impact on the performance of NN Portugal.
  • Providing high quality Medical Education and scientific training to HCPs, tailored to the specific needs of Endocrinology, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, and other specialties relevant to NNPT cardiometabolic business.
  • Organizing and facilitating Advisory Boards and sharing its outputs with the cross-functional teams.
  • Leading the scientific dialogue during the pre-launch phase, in a consistent and credible manner and in compliance with laws and regulations.

 

 

Qualifications

 

The candidate shall have Medical Doctor qualifications (Endocrinology or Internal Medicine specialization is a plus). Alternatively, a University Degree in Life Sciences is a must-have. PhD or MBA is a plus. Other requirements are:

 

  • Professional experience in Diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease, for at least 3 years, in clinical care and/or in Medical Affairs, is desirable.
  • Project Management is a must.
  • People Leadership, either formal or informal, is a plus.
  • Digital Health in Diabetes is a plus.
  • Strategic vision, business acumen, good communication skills and good interpersonal relations.
