The Position

 

As our Customer Engagement Director, your mission is to lead our Customer Engagement strategy, fostering a customer-centric and data-driven organisation to excel our commercial execution. You will set the direction of this high-performing team, ensuring the alignment of our key functional areas – Customer Experience, Customer Data & Engagement Ecosystem, and Commercial Excellence – with the implementation of the Future Frontline Customer Engagement Roadmap.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Push boundaries and be the advocate for a mindset change within the organisation to elevate the way we engage with our customers.
  • Partnering with the commercial and medical teams to drive our frontline excellence to enhance customer engagement.
  • Define and execute strategic plans to drive commercial excellence and optimise omnichannel activities, ensuring robust cross-functional collaboration.
  • Establish a data-driven approach to build informed decision-making leveraging data, technology and analytics.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to build relationships, gather input, and drive advocacy for the organisation.
  • Empower the team to take initiative and act confidently, provide coaching and feedback, address development needs, ensure team well-being and motivation, and promote a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and improvement.

 

 

Qualifications

 

As a person, you are a strategic thinker with the ability to navigate business complexity, with an innovative mindset to drive successfully our customer engagement strategy. You are a strong leader able to develop partner relationships and influence at different levels. Self-driven with a “can do” mindset, positive attitude and leading by example.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

 

  • University degree in Business, Sciences, Economics or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Solid experience in commercial excellence, omnichannel strategies, engagement platforms or digital transformation within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • More than five years’ experience as a people manager is required. Proven track record of effective management. Previous experience as part of a country Leadership Board will be an advantage.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience with cross-functional teams and matrix organisations.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
  • Fluent spoken and written English. Fluency in Portuguese is an advantage.

 

 

 

About the Department

 

The Customer Engagement Team has as its main objectives improving our customer interactions and driving customer-centric initiatives leveraging our Future Frontline Customer Engagement Model to excel in our commercial execution strategy in a cross-functional way. You will report to the General Manager of Novo Nordisk Portugal, being part of the Portuguese affiliate Leadership Team, working together with the rest of the leaders to ensure that business goals are achieved and exceeded.
