As Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager, you will support the countries of the Cluster “South America” (SAM) by providing timely, pragmatic legal and compliance guidance, under the supervision of senior team members. You will help identify and address legal and compliance risks and contribute to the implementation of practical mitigation actions across key areas, including contract management, corporate governance, intellectual property, competition law, data privacy, and Business Ethics and Compliance topics.

Your new role 
As SAM Legal, Ethics & Compliance Manager, you will be the primary legal and compliance advisor for the cluster, delivering pragmatic business-oriented legal advice and driving ethics and compliance programs.
Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations and standards to ensure the cluster operates within legal frameworks.
Provide legal advice on contracts, corporate matters and commercial operations; draft, review and negotiate legal documents.
Design, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and training to promote a strong culture of compliance.
Support risk identification, assessment and mitigation activities, including investigations via the Compliance Hotline.
Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel and regulators; act as the key point of contact for legal and compliance matters in the cluster.
Represent the cluster in legal/compliance networks and coordinate roll-out of HQ initiatives in alignment with Clusters Associate Director.
Drive continuous improvement of legal and compliance processes, tools and reporting.

BASAC Legal, Ethics & Compliance is a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to ensuring Novo Nordisk operates ethically and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Based in a multicultural and international environment, we provide strategic legal counsel and compliance support across the Clusters (SAM and CAC). Our team is committed to driving quality decisions, enabling strategy, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. 

Your skills & qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Law and admission to the legal profession (required); Master’s degree in Law is a plus.
Solid experience as a compliance advisor in a corporate environment or law firm. 
Strong business judgment and the ability to work directly with senior leaders and external partners. 
Proven ability to develop and run compliance programs, conduct investigations and manage regulatory interactions.
Experience working in multicultural and international environments.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable. 
Fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus. 
Regional experience highly valued. 
Availability to travel up to 20% of the time.
