Then seize the opportunity for the role as Senior Manager, Legal, Ethics, Compliance & Quality (LECQ) in the Novo Nordisk Gulf Emerging Markets (GEM) Cluster covering Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen, also overseeing Qatar affiliate, based in Kuwait.
Your New Role
As the Senior Manager LECQ, you will act as a motivated and highly engaged member of the Leadership Team, role modelling business ethics and quality mindset and the Novo Nordisk Way. You will ensure together with the Leadership Team (LT), your LECQ team a very strong ‘tone from the top’ culture.
The other responsibilities will be to;
- Develop and lead the legal, compliance and quality teams.
- Manage a team of legal, ethics, compliance and quality colleagues
- Set direction on legal, ethics, compliance and quality matters and be a trusted and solution-oriented sparring partner to the Leadership Team and other cluster stakeholders.
- Play a critically important role in managing legal, ethics, compliance and quality risks across the the cluster.
- Travel to the countries when required and will drive a strong Business Ethics and quality mind-set among all leaders and employees.
- Work closely and collaboratively with other functions to enable business strategy and opportunities while ensuring that we never compromise on quality and business ethics.
In this role, you will report to the General Manager of GEM, with a functional line to the Senior Director of LECQ, BAMECA. You will be part of the GEM Leadership Team and be based in Kuwait. You will be the direct manager of LECQ colleagues (a team of 3).
Your New Department
Novo Nordisk Gulf Emerging Markets (GEM) consists of Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen and is a part of the BAMECA (Business Area Middle East & Central Asia) region. There are huge unmet medical needs for patients in Gulf countries, and our ambition is to fulfil it by launching our new innovative products and be a key contributor to Novo Nordisk’s growth.
Your Skills & Qualifications
You have a master’s degree in law and are accredited to a relevant bar as a lawyer. You have at least 7 years of legal and compliance experience, as an external or in-house counsel. Having a past experience in multinational organisation, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, is a plus.
- Extensive legal knowledge and understanding of both global and internal regulation within multinational pharmaceutical companies or similar regulated sectors.
- Experience in leadership and people management position within a matrix organisation is a plus.
- You are proactive, solution focused, pragmatic and have worked in a multicultural environment
- You possess strong business partnering and communication skills, a genuine interest and curiosity to understand the business and where Legal, Ethics, Compliance and Quality can optimally support a business agenda.
- You have a strong executive presence in dealing with senior stakeholders, personal drive with a ‘can-do’ attitude, demonstrating proactive thinking and a “show the way” approach and ability to turn complex information into simple and compelling messages.
- You thrive in a highly dynamic environment with the necessity to embrace complexity, high speed and quick decision making.
- You are fluent in English. Arabic would be considered as a plus.
