Senior Manager , Patient Access & Public Affairs - Gulf Emerging Markets

This is an amazing opportunity to create impactful market access strategies and shape opinions and secure reimbursement for life-changing products as our new Senior Manager, Patient Access & Public Affairs (PAPA) in the Novo Nordisk Gulf Emerging Markets (GEM) Cluster covering Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen, based in Kuwait.
Your new position
As the Senior Manager- PAPA, you will be heading PAPA department and will be in a highly visible role with responsibility for overseeing, developing and implementing affiliate-wide Market Access and Corporate Affairs strategies. In this role, you will report to the GM of GEM. You will be part of the GEM Leadership Team and be based in Kuwait. You will be the direct manager of PAPA colleagues.
You will -
- Manage the appropriate structure, capacity, and tools for Pricing and Market Access, and lead the development of organizational capabilities within the affiliate.
- Develop and advocate market access strategies to optimize the healthcare environment and support company reputation; lead the creation and implementation of long-term market access plans, align with global objectives, manage resources and team performance, and ensure compliance with business ethics and procedures.
- Oversee health economics studies and compliance, lead the development of value dossiers, provide HEOR training and strategic advice, and participate in external health economics forums.
- Formulate affiliate pricing strategies, manage the pricing corridor for the Novo Nordisk portfolio in close liaison with the regional office and International Operations (IO).
- Monitor and anticipate healthcare system and competitive changes, share insights across the organization, and represent the affiliate in Regional/International Operations (IO) Market Access forums and local external platforms.
- Define and deliver MA team outputs, localize strategic Market Access frameworks (payer engagement, negotiation, objection handling), ensure appropriate MAPA structure, resources, incentives, cross-collaboration, and clearly defined roles.

Novo Nordisk Gulf Emerging Markets (GEM) consists of Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen and is a part of the BAMECA (Business Area Middle East & Central Asia). There are huge unmet medical needs for patients in Gulf countries, and our ambition is to fulfil it by launching our new innovative products and be a key contributor to Novo Nordisk’s growth.
Your skills & qualifications
You have 10 years of progressive experience in Market Access, Pricing & Reimbursement, HEOR, and Public/Government Affairs, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; fluent in written and spoken English; strong analytical and strategic thinking with practical implementation of tactical plans.
- Proven expertise in at least two of the following areas: pricing strategy, outcomes research, health economics, brand value communication, advocacy development, payer engagement, market access, government affairs, stakeholder mapping and management, customer insights, value proposition development, and negotiation/business acquisition.
- Management experience with broad cross functional leadership and strong people management (preferably leading large/diverse teams); proven ability to build networks with healthcare decision makers (government, payers, insurers, policymakers, KOLs).
- Track record of delivering business objectives with multiple stakeholders; skilled at communicating complex issues persuasively to decision makers.
- Demonstrated capability across pricing/contracting, HEOR/value communication and payer/government engagement (including stakeholder mapping, advocacy, negotiation and customer insight) to drive access and reimbursement outcomes.
