Legal, Compliance & Quality Intern
Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur, MY
Your impact begins here
As Legal, Compliance & Quality Intern, you will help protect the integrity of Novo’s work in Malaysia from day one. You will monitor illegal websites and unauthorised advertisements, support quality monitoring and keep governance records accurate. Working alongside the Legal and Quality teams, you will turn what you find into clear reports and timely follow-up, helping the organisation meet legal and regulatory standards and act quickly when something needs attention.
What you’ll bring
You are curious about how rules, quality and good governance keep a healthcare company trustworthy, and you like work where accuracy matters. You’ll bring:
- Current studies in, or a recently completed degree in, a relevant field such as Pharmacy, Science, Law, Quality, or Legal and Compliance Studies.
- Knowledge of legal principles and regulatory compliance, or a genuine interest in quality, legal and compliance matters.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical way of working.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Useful, but not essential:
- Previous exposure to quality, legal, compliance or governance work, for example through coursework, projects or earlier internships.
What you’ll do
You will support the Legal and Quality teams in spotting compliance risks early and keeping records clear and complete. Your work will include:
- Monitoring illegal websites, unauthorised advertisements and potential compliance breaches through the Mysafety portal: triaging incidents, documenting findings and escalating high-risk issues.
- Contributing to periodic summaries and trend analyses that help the team decide on mitigation activities.
- Supporting the Quality team with daily monitoring, data verification, upkeep of dashboards and logs, and follow-up on open actions so cases are resolved on time.
- Preparing clear incident reports and supporting documentation for internal review and regulatory purposes.
- Providing administrative support for company secretary filings and governance documentation, keeping records accurate and submissions to authorities or internal forums on time.
- Supporting auditing and monitoring by preparing workpapers, carrying out defined testing procedures under supervision, documenting findings and helping with corrective actions and inspection preparation.
Who you’ll work with
You will join the Legal Department in Malaysia, a collaborative team that supports the organisation’s quality assurance and compliance work. You will work closely with the Legal team and with colleagues in Quality, and you will have contact with company secretary matters, internal review forums and, through your documentation, relevant authorities.
The work depends on clear handovers and quick follow-up. You will flag issues early, ask questions when something is unclear and help colleagues keep cases moving. You will be based in Malaysia. Your manager will be the Senior Manager of Legal Compliance & Quality Assurance.
What you can expect here
You will gain hands-on experience across legal, compliance and quality work, with real responsibilities from the start and supervision where you need it. You will be trusted to take ownership, encouraged to make your voice heard, and supported to learn from colleagues who work in these areas every day.
The Legal Department works at pace and in a supportive atmosphere, so you will have room to learn, contribute to meaningful projects and build skills you can take into your next step.
