Your new role
As Associate Director, Marketing (Head of Marketing) for Novo Nordisk Malaysia, you will set the direction for our commercial and consumer marketing strategy across the country. Reporting directly to the General Manager – a straightforward leader who values innovation and respectful challenge – you will lead a small but agile team of five (product managers, a consumer marketing manager and a marketing administrator) and turn insight into growth that reaches more patients than ever before.
Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing mid- to long-term marketing and portfolio strategies aligned with global, regional and affiliate priorities to accelerate sustainable business growth
- Leading product lifecycle management, launch excellence, brand growth and portfolio optimisation across our therapy areas
- Driving consumer marketing and strategic partnerships with hospitals, GPs and healthcare service providers across Malaysia
- Translating market insights into effective commercial strategies, innovative consumer marketing approaches, and smart resource allocation and investment decisions
- Leading integrated omnichannel campaigns across paid, owned and earned channels, including digital-first initiatives and above-/below-the-line activation – ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and industry codes
- Partnering closely with Sales, LCQ (Legal, Compliance and Quality), Medical Affairs, Market Access and Customer Engagement to deliver aligned, evidence-based launches and go-to-market plans
- Coaching and developing a high-performing marketing team, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration

Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a commercially sharp and consumer-obsessed marketing leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is energised by turning ambition into results. You will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences or a related field; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage
- A minimum of 12 years’ progressive experience in pharmaceutical marketing, commercial strategy, consumer marketing or business development
- Proven success in portfolio management, product launches and commercial excellence; experience in digital health, omnichannel marketing or strategic partnerships is highly desirable
- Strong leadership and people development skills, with the ability to coach an agile team and build succession for the future
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge respectfully, engage senior leaders and build lasting relationships with healthcare professionals and opinion leaders
- A data-driven mindset with fluency in KPIs, analytics, forecasting and competitive intelligence – balanced by the creativity to pioneer new ways to reach consumers
