At Novo Nordisk we are experiencing a rapid growth in sales over the recent years and along with the wide range of new products to be launched, we are re-enforcing our production capability world-wide.
Our factory in Koriyama is considering a major building expansion, we are now looking for an experienced expert to take lead of the project by renewable single year contract.
This position will be working on this project from end to end, collaborating closely with both the global team and the local teams of internal stakeholders and external consultants.
About the position
This position will be responsible for:
- Establishing the concept of Koriyama Factory building expansion (including warehouse) by investigating future portfolio and resources.
- Getting involved in the building expansion from SME (subject matter expert) of construction perspectives.
- Promote Koriyama Factory building expansion that should be fit for future opportunity/product.
- Always seeking for room for introducing new technology by applying external knowledge for new building
- Ensuring high level of compliance with all the internal and external regulations/requirements in all activities for building expansion
- Strive for ‘Circular for Zero’ (Novo Nordisk’s global sustainability actions) strategy for design of building
- Live up to NNWay, Essentials and Triple bottom Line
The main tasks are:
Management and financial perspective;
- Establish the concept and the request of Koriyama Factory building expansion and discuss it with the suppliers
- Get involved with engineering/construction supplier selection
- Establish the contract for the selected suppliers, working with the legal department
- Establish detailed timeline with the suppliers/Global HQ and manage the milestones
- Review the Conceptual/Basic/Detailed designs from the suppliers
- Review the estimate handed in from the suppliers
- Process/safety management for construction
- Establish the maintenance plan and share the knowledge with the Engineering & Maintenance team
- Stakeholder management especially with the engineering/construction suppliers
Quality, compliance, EHS and other perspective
- Ensure that the building expansion activities comply with all the applicable requirements, internal or external (GxP, occupational health and safety, environment, etc)
- Ensure the activity is always ready for internal audits and regulatory inspections by health authorities, fire authorities, construction authorities, etc
- Act as SME during audit or inspection
- Ensure new building is well qualified and/or validated where necessary and keep them validated state by considered maintenance plan
- Ensure that all activities related to construction never compromise not only quality and process performance but also environment and employees’ safety and health aspects
- Ensure dangerous points in shop floor are identified in a timely manner and eliminated during the construction, when a near miss or dangerous situation is reported. External suppliers are also included in the scope.
- Ensure readiness for new product launches as per defined milestones
Qualifications
- University degree or above
- Work experience of construction as a plant engineer in the industry which requires Clean Rooms (Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Food, Cosmetic, Semi-Conductors, etc)
- Experience and skill in construction
- Experience in improvement activities on a large scale
- Supplier management experience
- Knowledge of construction
- Native or Near native level Japanese language skils
- Business level English
- Strong communication and social skills
- Analytical, logical and accountable
